How does tire rotation NOT give you X% (make up a number) more wear from your rubber?
Too "Boy Scouty" for you?
Whatever floats your boat, there is certainly nothing wrong with rotating tires.
My Volt wears corners on the rear tires just as much as the front, the rears wear slower overall but still wear edges.
My last set of OEMs went 50,000 miles on front 72,000 on the rears (still have them as not fully worn). The tires are considered 35,000 mile treads and most Volt owners are surprised if you get 20,000 out of a set
I normally don't rotate much but may do a single rotation depending on the car.
I find rotating often is most prudent on a car that has suspension geometry issues (like a Dodge or VW) my old Cobalt and Insight wear tires flat in all 4 positions so it doesn't much matter how often i rotate (if at all)
Normally I can find pairs of tires much cheaper so rotating on replacement usually works fine for me.
Also not rotating makes problems evident on the treads then I can get alignment or replace parts when s problem starts and rotate more if it's persistent
