Post your latest oil or filter purchase

I called Pronto and said “I’m interested in the efficiency of one of your filters” and the rep laughed and said “I thought I’d heard everything, I don’t even know what that means!”

So I didn’t get anywhere.
I trust the printout on the box. It's 98/30.

That’s never a good sign when the person who is supposed to have that information says that 🤣

Picked up a couple jugs from Tractor Supply on their ”subscribe & save” for $16 a jug. Never heard of it before but it’s for my In laws yard equipment and generator. Will be enough to get me through next year. Hopefully Itll get me through the shortage/price hike lol

Thanks for the heads up! I did some digging and it appears to be pretty decent oil, probably overpriced at full retail.

$3.20/qt after a 5% reward for synthetic, however, is a good enough deal that I ordered six five quart jugs. Most of the vehicles I have in the drive don’t care enough to need anything fancy.

I picked up 3 more 5L jugs of Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30... up here in Canada it's 52.99 plus tax at Canadian Tire and 58.99 at Walmart. It's rare CT can beat Walmart on price. Very new stock as the stores around me were sold out last I checked 3 days ago. Made June 17th 2026. Wonder if the base stock has changed in this brew...

No problem! Glad to hear it’s a decent oil! I had stocked up on everything else to get me through 2027 but forgot about my Inlaws riding mower and generator that I maintain. Everything else had already gone up in price.

In April my wife and I bought a 2026 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum and a 2026.5 Rogue Dark Armor. They’re both at about 1,500 miles so I picked up 4 jugs and 1 quart of Castrol Extended Performance 0W-20 to use for the first two oil changes. The plan is to change them both around the 1st of August and the again around January. The Rogue takes five quarts and the Pathfinder takes 5.1, that’s the reason I bought the single quart.

Unless something unexpected comes up this will be the only oil I’ll use in these vehicles, I may grab two more so that I’ll be good for all of next year.
