Post your latest oil or filter purchase

Does transfer case oil (2021 Honda Pilot), air filters (Pilot and 20 CR-V Hybrid) and wiper inserts count?

Funny story: I tell the parts guy at the Honda dealer that 2 years ago that the previous parts guy screwed up the order with the wrong wiper inserts and the regular Honda 0w20 vs the Ultimate full synth I ordered. We verified the part numbers to be sure.

Me: "I think the previous party guy smoked too much weed"
Parts guy: "oh yeah, he still works here"
Me:

My dad gave me an opened jug of Supertech conventional. It’s been sitting on the garage shelf opened for the past 5 years. Can I still use it in a car?

What do you mean by "open"? Like the cap was left loose or off or just open once and then cap was retightened?

If the latter, I cannot see it being any different than an oil that has sat on the shelf the last 5 years never opened. The reason I say that is they are not hermetically sealed when filled at the factory any brief open and use and cap reinstall would be minimally invasive.

Regardless, it does push the usual 5 year shelf life most oil makers state.

I may be wrong, but any moisture that gets into the container should boil off when the engine gets up to temperature. ATF would be a different story.

That said, I concur with @ripcord and @Speedbird001 ; it should be fine for topoffs or lawnmowers, or for an old car that burns oil!
