Not feeling all warm and fuzzy about the upcoming (seemingly unavoidable) shortages in synthetic base stocks, I picked up yet another 20qt box of Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30. That gives me (or will when it gets here) 3 brand new boxes and one that has 15 qts in it.

I don't like having that much on hand, but I also don't like making substitutions to what I use.....so....

Both from Walmart, oil ordered online. Jjug has Aug 2025 on it so I've been shaking it quite a bit in the meantime. Didn't quite feel comfortable using the lifelong with only 20k miles on this engine.

Know a guy that was a Schaeffer dealer on side. He runs it in his 6.7 Cummins. He passed 500K couple years ago. He uses something in fuel also. He has never changed any injectors and changes his oil 1x year. Good stuff!

They still show it in stock to ship direct from their online store if you really need it. Problem is it is slightly more expensive unless you're on the 'Platinum' plan which requires you to buy a 20qt box, then they put you on the plan.

Well, Advanced Auto had a great sale on Fram and Purolator air and oil filters. I bought 20 ish Fram oil filters and 5 Purolator air filters really cheap. I bought 4 jugs of Kirkland 5w30 motor oil on sale. Price was roughly 12.50 per jug. I'm good for a little while as I have a large stash of oil and filters for cheap thanks to BITOG!!

Not a purchase but received the giveaway 8ea Hengst H97W05 oil filters from @RooflessVW . Extra bonus is that they are made in Poland.

A dozen fresh Subaru filters from the dealer at $7 each plus taxes ($84 plus txs). Added 7 crush washers and 5 coffee mugs as well. Coffee mugs were about $35 total with minimal discount.

I have been unable to find Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30 in multiple stores.

Lots of restore and protect in 0w20, 5w20 ans 5w30 in walmart northern Michigan. What was kinda odd is there was no valvoline extended protection in 5w30. I was wanting to try it in my '11 tacoma, I have always stuck with mobil 1 or Castrol every synthetic oil change I've done.

As mentioned just above I found lots of valvoline restore and protect in 0w20, 5w30, and 5w20 in walmart. No 5w30 valvoline extended protection but there was a empty spot on the shelf for it.

Went with 5w30 mobil 1 extended preformace instead. I plan to go 5000 miles. Also didn't see any shell rotella gas truck oil or mobil one gas truck oil (can't think of the name) but probably hasn't been on the shelf for a year or better.

The mobil 1 extended performance advertises sludge cleaning in one oil change ... which I'm sure other oils do as well! Both Mobil 1 Extended Performance and valvoline extended protection had high regards on bobistheoilguy . The valvoline did for high moly if I recall.

Some Valvoline Restore and Protect this will be my third OCI. Also, a NAPA Proformer specs looked good enough for me for the price over their gold filter.

Side Note: My Silverado used about half a quart in about 5k miles. I'm at almost 3.5k miles on the second OCI and the dipstick is sitting at full still.

I bought one more jug of Mobil 1 ESP 0w-20, it is still on sale at Canadian Tire and I had $12 in CT money
I now have enough oil for about two years for both of my cars

I'm up to 16 5L jugs with this latest acquisition.
Unfortunately the delivery didn't go well and I got it for free. Had I not got to it as soon as I did I'd have been on the hook for a colossal common hallway carpet repair bill.

Walmart delivery has always been peerless for me. I think this particular FedEx driver was pissed because the box was heavy (wimp) so dropped it from a height upside-down. Even though the jugs were in a sealed bag with the caps wrapped in that plastic tape, unbeknownst to me Pennzoil jugs don't have sealed foil lids under the cap like Mobil 1 does. It leaked from the caps resulting in this mess
