Post your latest oil or filter purchase

Pennzoil motor oil
Grabbed 5 qts of Castrol Edge 5w30 and a CarQuest Premium 85348 for mom’s Explorer.

Also grabbed a single qt of Pennzoil Platinum High Mileage 5w30 for my truck.

Well, a visit to Walmart for a prescription, thought I'd pick up a couple spare Mobil 1 M1-110A filters, nope, completely sold out, the Fram shelves are also pretty scarce, again not a single filter for Honda. I'll keep checking back at $11 and change, ok, but AAP and AZ get about $18 and that's a no-go.

Look around. I found their stash of Valvoline Restore and Protect on the tip-top shelf on another aisle. The jugs were turned around so you couldn't see the viscosity or the main label. Can't say someone was deliberately trying to hide them, but if they were, they did a good job. Lucky for me, it was shortly after they opened and I had plenty of time.

Yesterday, someone else on BITOG posted the same experience at his Walmart.
 
The shelf with the Mobil1 filters had a LOT of empty spaces.....we have a triad locally, Walmart, AAP and AZ all within literally yards of each other. The only way AAP and AZ are competitive is if you buy a bundle.
 
Stopped at another Walmart near where I work, they had one Mobil 1 M1-110A, got it. Their filter shelves were looking pretty sparse, especially the Fram and Super Tech sections. Anything that fits Hondas is scarce.
 
It will be interesting at the least, to see how this major upset in the oil (including air filters) filter industry works itself out. There is a genuine opportunity here for US based manufacturing if they are willing to take it, equally tempting is the expanding Asian manufacturing, easy to outsource and rebrand. All i can see as a consumer is the immediate impact on availability, empty shelves as product dries up, It pains me to have to buy a product made in Vietnam when we could easy make them here.
 
5 qts. Supertech 0w20 full synthetic and a ST10358 oil filter. Not many Supertech oil filters left, thought about buying the last two ST10358 cartridge filters they had (2.97) but didn't.
