I just had to buy cheap filter to start a car that hasn’t run in eight years. Plan is to change it and maybe the oil after we get it running. I’m curious about brands I used to buy, Baldwin, or some that I thought were premium, maybe. I saw it cheap on Amazon while buying something else. Good job, Amazon, persuading me to buy something cheap. I will not cut it open to look for engine fragments or to count how many folds there are. Once it’s removed, it’s trash.

Had most of.the oil...picked up the filter and Regain at Wally today. 3 qt LM was from FCP to finish off a return refund for a kit I don't use anymore.

I just got this AC Delco PF1218. I wanted an inexpensive filter for a startup. This time I am impressed by the construction. It looks like what I used to get before they got cheap looking. It’s shorter than the PF1218 I got in the past. It’s the same height as the Luberfiner PH1218 I just got. Compare to PF35L I have been using. The L does not stand for long. I don’t know what it means. The 35L is the same height as Wix 51060 and 51061, filters I use occasionally.

I looked it up in a catalog I have copyright 1990, 100% synthetic glass filter media rated at 12 microns. I probably bought this catalog in 1990. The LS motor was just a twinkle in somebody’s eye.

Switched my vehicles over to Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W30 from Walmart and Carquest Premium oil filters (buy 5 from Advance Auto and get free shipping). Great oil and oil filter in my vehicles for max 5,000 mile / 6 month OCI .
