Walmart had the 5qt on roll back for 25.97 and there is a 10 dollar rebate online. I overpaid for the quart though. 2.0 eco boost takes 5.5 quarts so I hope next time I can find the Castrol again on rollback

been wanting to try the Castrol for awhile and now it seems to be getting easier to find and more reasonably priced.

Well it’s early but it’s quiet and smooth. I should be doing an oil analysis but instead I just change around 4000 miles each time since ecoboosts are hard on oil.

Normally my Civic 1.6 Diesel gets Shell Helix Ultra C2/C3 0w30 oil. This time I fancied a change and I've often found my cars sound nice and quite on Magnatec so it's got a straight C3 5w30 this time. Will be interesting to see if I notice any difference.

Deciding to use THE 5w30 same oil in Focus. Thinking 10w30 since it’s spec’d for the 02’ Dakota would do same as 5w30. Maybe I am retarded, no filter which we all know, and overthinking this. But I can afford to change.

Not time to do the change yet. But, figured since Pennzoil had the rebate going and my local Walmart had some 5w30 in stock I better go ahead and grab some.

Also gonna try the new Mobil 1 filter made in S. Korea.

Latest haul from local marketplace. Scored 11 qt Subaru CVT-3 for $40. Comes out to $3.63/Qt vs $17-20 at dealer. Then I picked up Amsoil XL 10w30 for $40 for 8 quarts. Basically 50% off member price. Currently running Ams XL 5w30 in 2021 Outback 2.5. Plan on leaving that for winter and going with 10w30 for next spring.

Good score. I have gotten some pretty good deals also on FB Marketplace like 6 quarts of Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-140 for $2 a quart.
