Oil change day for my wife's '23 rav4
Normally do 8,000 km, but i'm cutting the interval a bit short at 7,000 km this time on account of it was mostly all cold starts and extended idle times in -20 -40 degree weather.

Out - 4.5L mobil1 0w16 and a wix wl10332

In - 4.5L mag1 0w16 and a wix wl10332 and a new crush washer

I am curious to see your results. My friend has a 20 Soul with over 90k and it burns a quart every 5k
I should have poured the whole bottle of HPL Engine Cleaner to top at 4.5 quarts but I wanted to give the Valvoline a chance to do the slow cleaning to not overwhelm the filter.

My wife's 2020 Kia 2.0 MPI is enroute to use 2-1/2 quarts in 5k OCI. The current Castrol Euro quieted the engine noticeably. So I thought I had a winner. Boy was I wrong. Prior two oil brands (I'd rather not mention here) saw no consumption, but the engine was noticeably louder..

I'll give that 2.0 HPL Performance Plus this Fall, if it doesn't fail in the meantime. Some of these 2.0s built early-on for the 2020 model year are prone to engine failure. Their skirts literally come unglued / come apart. My build-date was right there too..... May 2019.

It only has 29k on the odometer today. My neighbor's 2020 Soul 2.0 failed at 27k. We both bought them weeks apart. He did 5k OCIs with bulk 5w20 synblend. I do 3k OCIs with brand name full synthetics between 5w30 and 5w40.

What were the Oil Life monitors at for each
car? 20 months sounds like European drain intervals. Thanks.

Stepdads 91’ Formula 305 v-6 manual transmission.

Out:pennzoil conventional from circa 2010 and Fram extra guard filter. PH 30

I’m: FRAM ENDURANCE PH 30 oil filter and some QS Syn 5w30 I had in stash. He’s bummed he can’t find any plain yellow bottle and that it’s a blend. I said “well, the Dino oils are mainly blend nowadays so better get used to it!”

Did you get the in and the out mixed up here? Most would run the HPL EC first before switching over to HPL entirely, not the other way.
Neg. I had a single quart of the HPL EC and needed another .8qts after the 5qt jug of M1EP ran out so it got tossed in.

I wanted to go back and edit my last reply but it's had its 2 last oil changes on HPL oil....I just ran out and didn't get a new order placed so off the shelf oil and frankenbrew it gets. :D

2014 Tundra 5.7
120k miles, 5k on the oil
Out: Kirkland Signature 5w30, OEM filter
In: Same stuff, OEM filter

Also changed the t-case and f/r differentials. Ravenol MTF 75w in the t-case, Supertech full syn 75w90 in the diffs. I change the diffs and t-case every 30k, which I think is overkill for my truck. The oil I drained looked just like the oil going back in.
