Off: Factory 288mm rotors and pads (Jurid 200)

On: Volkswagen 312mm Rotors and 5Q0698151AM pads (Ferodo 9225) and ATE plastilube extremly sparingly

Feel: much more linear as described in the tread on Golf MKvII. No squeaks, dust remains to be seen I suppose.

The factory pads were not worn completely to but apparently hard on rotors.

Out - Aftermarket from AA
In - Zimmerman coated rotors, ATE (made in Germany) ceramic pads, OE hardware, pins and sensors.
There is nuthin' like quality parts. I've never been sorry for using top quality components, not just on cars.
 
Taken back in 2007 when I put the BMW Performance fully floating, unidirectional rotors on my 2003 BMW E46 330Ci ZSP (there is a left and right side rotor). They were made in Germany by a boutique manufacturer (a 3 letter acronym IIRC), but stocked and sold through BMW channels as OEM BMW parts.

FWIW, I have two spare sets, BNIB. If by some wild coincidence someone absolutely must have a pair of these, PM me. I also have a full set of Pagid Blues.

2012 Suzuki SX4, 110k miles
First-time rear rotor change
The original was rusted out and kept squeaking even brakes are NOT applied.
It turned out a new pair of aftermarket rotors is about the same as the resurfacing cost.
Those 12-year-old caliper bracket mounting bolts were so hard to get off.....

Rotors still in good shape and no vibrations when braking. So I pad slapped it, same as the last guy that was into the brakes. He did a really good job cleaning and lubing the slide pins. I just wiped them off and applied fresh lube.
 
2013 Lexus GS350 F Sport, 113K
Figured it would be a good idea to inspect rear brakes, as they were original to the car. Driver side was near the squealer, pads were worn nice and even. Went to Lexus and picked up the pads; when I got home I found they sold me the fronts. Drove back and got the rears. Parts guy admitted his mistake; I told him no big deal.
Stevens Creek Lexus is one of the biggest in the nation. Parts department is very good; they offer Internet pricing. Pads were $55 plus the governor's tax. They are open till 6:00PM on Saturdays; nice. I wouldn't buy a car there; they expect you to flash a Black Card and pay sticker.

Went home and swapped the driver side; left the other for this morning. Also cleaned and lubed the fronts (33K since install). The F Sport cars use Textar pads (fixed calipers) but squeal like a stabbed pig. I have the Advics TSB pads which are much better as far as noise.

Fittment is so nice with factory brake components.

Just ordered new rotors for my 2019 Impreza Sport. Went with EBC plain coated rotors. Already have EBC Yellow stuff pads on the shelf. Looking forward to trying them out. This will be both front and rear replacements. ~26k on OEM. This will be the first replacement for this car.

Scott, "SHW" I guess. SHW is an OEM supplying to Audi, VW and BMW.

Helped my buddy replace front pads and rotors and do a complete system bleed on his wife’s escape. I think we used power stop ceramic pads and rotors that came in a kit. Used Lucas DOT 3 fluid for the bleed/ flush. Huge improvement on that car.
 
Thought I posted these in here but did not, did both our cars in the past few weeks.

2018 Mazda CX-9, ~83,500 miles:
- Did both front and rear brakes w/ Coated Raybestos rotors and the Raybestos hybrid pads. Only about 1,000 miles in but very pleased so far. Still need to bleed brakes but didn't have right size tubing.

2003 Corolla, ~ 252,200 miles:
- Just did rear brakes on this one. Old system was nasty, rusty and had grooves in the drums. Pads weren't bad though. Replaced with full Powerstop kit that had coated drums. Used most of the hardware except adjusters as they were larger and old were still functioning fine, just gave them a good greasing. One man bleed on the system done as well. So nice to not hear an odd squeal/grind when coming to a stop.
