4x Pirelli P7 AS 3 for my Accord in 215-55-17 from Sam's Club. Adventure today and
back story from a 5 years ago.
I don't have Sam's or other places rotate my tires. I do that as part of spring/fall winter tire swap. I mark all my stuff in my book in glove box. My 5 year old Pirelli P7 Cinturato AS plus II had 46k on them in 5 years (also 29k on my winters). The Pirelli were down to 4/32" and got a little floaty in the last couple rains that I didn't like, time to replace. I called Pirelli about treadwear warranty as they are supposed to be 70k. I was very open about not having them rotated there but doing it in my driveway. Pirelli said make a copy of what you have and go to Sam's, see manager and explain.
I explained same thing to manager, gave him my copies from book including winter tire pictures with date codes and tread depth. He measured my Pirelli and said they were definitely rotated often, all 4 of them perfectly even at 4/32". He checked my winter tire pictures with it, looked up a chart and said we can do 33% off as a prorate on new Pirelli P7 AS 3. Also currently a $100 sale on 4 and only $40 to mount with plus membership. On website they are $175 each, he calculated and with tax, disposal fee, out the door would be $493. I said order them, he called next day that they were in, made appointment for today at 10am.
I got there at 9:45am and the tire guy said they were running behind because someone called out sick, of course. No problem, I'll wait. 11:30am they call and say all done so I go back over. I get my paperwork and keys, has all correct P7 information etc. I go out to my car and inspect because I am a BITOG tire nerd. Hmmm 4 x Pirelli P4 Persist are on it

. I go back in, see the manager who had come in and say they installed the wrong tires. He looked confused, "Pirelli 215-55-17 correct?", yes, but wrong model. The communication was not clear in the bay. Mine were hiding behind a much taller stack of other tires so the guy thought I was getting the P4 Persist they had in stock.
45 minutes later I was all done for the second time

. I did get a free lunch combo pizza slice and soda while waiting. Tires are correct, I'm driving VERY gently for a couple days, tires are marked in case of similar slip on rim issue. Now I'm trying to clean them up. I don't know if it's the lubricant or mold release but this white stuff is tenacious like a latched on Pitbull or some serious barnacles. I can rub it while dry and seems to wear off. I tried simple green with scrub brush. I tried Armor All Extreme Wheel and Tire cleaner with scrub brush and a microfiber. It is on there. I'll probably give it a couple days as rain is forecast and I'll drive with tire flexing.
Oh well, it was like the SS Minnow, a 3 hour tour of Sam's. 4 new, made Brazil, Pirelli P7 AS 3 for just under $500. Would these be considered Brazilian or Italian shoes?
And what the old ones had left.
