Post your last tire/wheel purchase

How did you like the Firestone? I was thinking of a set of Destination LE3's but they're as expensive as Michelin. Were you please with the Firestone brand?
I have the LE2's on my 2001 Blazer. I like the dry, wet and snow traction. It's fairly quiet also. It does almost everything well but I am not happy with the wear. I am around 40k with this tire and maybe I can stretch it out to 50k. I was expecting 70k......that said, I'll probably replace with the LE3's because they perform in every other category

I got these new tires but they are way to big for me.

There is still one hard fact on tires. None will give you it all. The higher the wear mileage the more you will give up in performance.
Ultra high performance tires are generally the best In all categories but the worst in tread wear rating.
Grand touring all season tires tend to give the best combination of what most people want but tend to cost a little more.
Currently the all season tires with the snow on mountain rating seem to be taking over the market. First it was Michelin cross climate and now pirelli Bridgestone and Firestone all have entries in that field. People are also getting good mileage out of the cross climates. They seem to be the closest ever to a all in one tire

For the kids 2013 VWJetta I just had 4 new Falken Sincera ST80 tires installed. Seem to only available at local tire shops, not larger outlets like Tire Rack… 75,000 mile warranty, 720 A A…

Anyone else use them in the past?

Just replaced original equipment Firestone AT20 on a 2012 Tacoma access cab 2wd with 21K original miles with severe dry rot and cracking with Cooper Endeavor 215/70/R15 purchased from Tire Rack last month. They had $80 instant rebate vs. $50 submission rebate now so was more than happy with that offering. 3 tires had DOT codes within 2 months mfg before shipping and 1 was about 1 year old+ and made in Mexico. Nothing unusual with mounting or balancing with the highest of 1.25oz on one tire on one side. Best was 0.25oz. Only went up the street and no issues. Purchased as a budget replacement tire for a budget vehicle.

Two Carslile 23-11-10 AT2 six ply @ $180 Cdn each for a 2011 JD X 320.
Fronts are 18-7.50-8 turf something I bought last year. Tires age and weather out and won’t hold air long before they wear out.

For wife’s 2012 Lexus ES350, took off all 4 Goodyear Assurance’s that had about 26k on them and 3-4mm tread left and replaced with Continental Pure Contacts. Two out of last 3 sets of Goodyear’s I’ve purchased have not gotten anywhere the tread life they were supposed to. I have Contis on my car and have been happy with their performance and wear and that prompted change on Lexus.

Continental Terraincontact H/T on my 2021 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4. These tires inspire confidence in the twisties, ride smooth, and settle fast with no shudder after impact. They are superior to my Goodyear Wrangler OEM's, and the Firestone LE 3's.

Lexus GX460 - 4 new Yokohama 265/60/18 Geolandar AT G015 @ Discount tire - received a pro rated credit b/c prior set had sidewall cracks after 45 to 50k miles. Tires performed well in all conditions and despite sidewall issue was pleased with the credit.

2018 Sienna, 49k.
Out: Firestone Weathergrips. 2 are worn. I hate them.
In: Michelin Defender 2's this Wednesday @ Discount Tire.

Good balanced highway tires with a little meat, have the same on my GX.

2012 Nissan Xterra 148k
Out: Falken wildpeak HT02 265/70/16, all 4 are worn and need something more aggressive
In: Firestone Destination MT/2 265/75/16

The MT/2s tested well on tire rack also has a decent looking tread pattern that should be more than sufficient for my weekly logging road adventure for trout fishing and tested better than others for winter traction.

Nordman Solstice 4s on the VW SportWagen.

They are made by Nokian, and can confirm they came out of their new plant in Tennessee. Absolutely wonderful all weather tires and are simply repackaged WRG4s but priced at a far better rate.
