Post your last tire/wheel purchase

they cannot be over 5 years old so automatically these are disqualified from that.
HUH? I've had cars pass VA inspection with 10 year old tires, not that I've seen him give them more than a quick glance. I thought the tire lobby convinced the public that 6 year old tires were the limit before the donuts became more hazardous to your health then Dunkin's. Now it's 5?

Not for the inspection. They cannot be older than 5 years old for the used tire installer to install them by law. There is no age limit for state inspection though they have tried to implement a 7 year law though it never got passed.

OK that makes more sense. I'm sure an extra fiver would get it done in most places, especially if you know the guy a while.

Here are the 4 Uniroyal Tiger Paw 🐾 tires I purchased for dads car. Very good so far on the 30 mile drive home from work. Ride like pillows. Will be excited to see how they do in the rain. Smashed my finger when balancing them and now I have a blood blister lol. Hurts like heck. That’s one thing I hate about steel wheels is you can’t use sticky weights.

1) Why would you want to? Hammer on weights are less of a hassle to install.
2) Why can't you? Pretty sure I've done that when I didn't have the right size lead weight.
I have a really hard time hammering them on. And usually the brake calipers on steel wheels will interfere with sticky weights. Not always but a lot of times.

Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S. All four and keeping the old spare since the only rolling time its had was when it went from the balancer to the back of the truck! Found out at DT that they install TPMSs for free so I didn't buy new ones. They will work on tires under 10 years old, too, so sometime in the next two years, I'll just have them all replaced unless they fail beforehand.

The drive feels a lot better and quieter. The old tires were the same...though I think the 4S is the newer version.

4 Kuhmo PS31 Ecsta (225/45/17 and 245/40/17) on my 2013 Mercedes (that just got traded in with only 350 miles on the new tires)

4 Accelera 225/60/15 on a set of 15x6 rally wheels for my 57 Chevy. I have a set of Cooper Cobra (215/65/15 and 235/60/15) on chrome smoothies that I do drive around on in town with the Chevy, but they’re old tires (14 years old) and won’t see the highway.
