Is this HWY MPG?
Is this current MPG for this winter?

The MPG in my wife's '01 Lexus RX-300(1mzfe) is at around 14-15 MPG city this winter.
My '04 Altima 2.5 is 21-22 MPG city this winter.
My daughter's '06 Mazda3 2.0L auto is at 26-27 MPG city this winter.

We're all disapointed as this is the worst consistant MPG we have all experienced.

This has also been a cold, snowy winter compared to years past...

Winters are always cold here...This is nothing new here in Rochester. Usually the Southern Tier is even colder still.

Since my last reply to this subject during the winter 2011(very angry with our MPG), our current MPG has risen to it's normal fuel economy for this time of year(summer). Slightly better to much better than the EPA rating for all of our vehicles inlcuding my daughters car.

This past winter, we all experienced the worst MPG that I can ever remember(since I'm the one with the data) for these vehicles. Consistantly poorer from tank to tank of fuel. The NWS says it was abnormaly cold(er) than in recent years. Although, in my area, we never got down to some of the coldest days on record, we were consistantly cold all winter long with almost no days reaching "up" into the 20's deg F. We seemed to always be in the teens but never really got below Zero. I could be mistaken!

Now, the MPG is where we always expect it to be. I'm sure we'll get a flier/dropper along the way. One real high reading and one real low reading and we won't be able to put a finger on it as to why! I'll double check the trip odometer and gallons used for any mistakes. Clean my glasses one more time and make sure that I am not seeing "things"!

As the summer tempuratures rise into the 90's deg F and higher and the humidity increases, the MPG will also rise, as is typicle according to my data for our own vehicles. Lately, we have not broken into the 80's deg F only a few days thus far(not typicle for this time of year). Been a bit cooler up to now and I can't beleive the 4th of July is almost here. Just doesn't seem right as we should be sweating our @$$&$ off by now with still more heat on the way right into September with cool nights and often many warm days in OCT. Then we knew that we really had a good summer.

I remember one summer in the early 1990's where the summer started in April and went into October. It was consistantly "HOT"! Never really hitting 100 deg F(although 99 a few times) and never much below the 80 deg F. My lawn never really turned green that year(couldn't water enough...so I didn't). The MPG was great!

The winters on either side of that summer weren't anything drastic either, just normal winter/snow/wind.

Years ago when we were driving little ---- 4cly's with barely enough backseat room for child car seats, is when we got the best MPG for our vehicles. [censored], we were getting 30 mpg in the city and over 40 mpg on the hwy. Today, my vehicles(as much as I love'em) aren't even getting 30 mpg on the highway.

05 grand prix, 85% interstate at 75mph, 26.2mpg. 50/50 city takes it down to 24mpg. Winter time... 19mpg

Man, that's pitiful.

My 300c SRT8 averages 17.5 in mixed "spirited" driving with a canned tune from Diablo tweaked a bit by me.

My DD Silverado 5.3 gets 16-17 in the city exclusively.

Our fleet trucks are in stationary operation most of the time so mileage is ZERO!

G5 year to date probably 60% highway
15480km (9618M) 9.5L/100km (25MPG) down to 9 & 26 since May and warmer weather.

G6 year to date about 90% highway
12463km (7855M) 10.3L/10km (23MPG) down to 9.4 & 25 since May

Temperatures went up above 100°F and A/C went on so MPG went down.

I work 3 days a week in FtWorth. It's mostly interstate but a lot of it is stop and go. 2 days a week I'm out of town. I take Farm to Market and County roads. A lot of 55-65 mph speed limits, a lot of curves, quite a few stop signs, and an occasional traffic light.

Averaging 26 mpg now. 55 MPH speed limit isn't so bad when they throw you some curves

The PT does a lot more city driving and averages 19mpg. I like the PT Cruiser but I hate filling that thing up with premium. I could probably do just as well if not better with a RAV4 with a 3.5 V6 on regular.

15 on the truck.

Went for a boat ride today in my friends boat, burned about 300 gallons of diesel. Not to bad.

Was quite surprised with the last fill-up on the 1994 Jag XJS with the 4.0L straight 6. Mostly highway cruising (which isn't my norm) and got 27mpg. Was shocked and went over my numbers a couple of times. Did the trip odo and gallons and also used my iPhone app that I use to track and they came up the same. The previous tank (which was all suburban town driving) was 19.3. I'm pleasantly surprised, have to see if this keeps up

22mpg on the Escape last tank. This tank appears to be at least 22mpg or better. The only change was from PP to MC same weight. Doesn't make alot of sense but it seems PP was killing it's mpg.

It's really interesting to go back to the start of this thread, and see all the vehicles posters DON'T own anymore.

I never posted, b/c I don't bother to measure mileage. I also don't drive particularly 'economy minded', so I'd imagine my 2003 Tribute 3.0 V-6 is getting somewhere around 21-23 mpg.
