Is this HWY MPG?
Is this current MPG for this winter?

The MPG in my wife's '01 Lexus RX-300(1mzfe) is at around 14-15 MPG city this winter.
My '04 Altima 2.5 is 21-22 MPG city this winter.
My daughter's '06 Mazda3 2.0L auto is at 26-27 MPG city this winter.

We're all disapointed as this is the worst consistant MPG we have all experienced.

This has also been a cold, snowy winter compared to years past...

Winters are always cold here...This is nothing new here in Rochester. Usually the Southern Tier is even colder still.

I should probably post this in it's own thread.

Ya know, this winter in particular, I have spent less time cleaning the snow/ice off of the cars and the engines have been idling "less" time while doing so and still the MPG is the worst in all of our cars. Yes, it's been a cold winter but, we have had as cold or colder temps here where I live. I have often left the vehicles engines running in the driveway for 45 minutes while I snowblow'd the driveway/walkway. And our MPG on those tankfulls of gas weren't as bad as they are these days.

I have been reading my MPG since I was a kid(40+ yrs). It's something that I do by habbit now! Keep a calculator in each car glove box...Anal, I know!

My daughter has been complaining about her MPG(mazda3 2.0) this winter compared to last winter. Just recently, 25mpg with 2 trips from Buff-Roch on the same tank of gas.
My wifes Lexus RX(a pig at best)14mpg is worst than ever this winter.
My Altima 2.5...Same thing(20mpg and dropping).

I'm blaming the fuel!

Gee! I can't wait for gas prices to go up to $5.00/gal

I've noticed the same thing here in the Maritimes. Even when we get a week of almost lousy weather(as opposed to downright miserable)the wife and I still can't get anywhere decent mileage out of either the ION or the Ranger. Throw a snowstorm(about once a week on average this winter) and the truck is barely breaking 20 IMPG, the ION is down to around 27 IMPG or about 7-10IMPG off of the summer mileage.

The thing is, the summer time MPG is as good as ever right into the autumn, maybe even better by a small margin(with all vehicles that we own).

1969 Ford F100 ... Mpg what is that
1974 Dodge Dart swinger /-6 19 city/20 highway
1990 Mercury Topaz All Wheel Drive 20 city/25 highway
1999 Ford superduty I don't dare keep track, its for farm work
2008 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 17 city/24 highway
2008 Mazda Cx9 Grand Touring 18 city/25 highway

I just cant believe that the cx9 can basically equal the topaz, the topaz is awd but man for a 4cyl it sucks gas. But I commute her daily 50 miles and shes reliable and paid for. So go figure ill keep running the mega miles up on her and save the other beasts for fun.

32MPG Ford Focus 2001, ZETEC 2.0l Standard transaxle hwy.

28-30 City mpg.

18 Mpg, 2001 GMC Sierra, highway and city, both get the same mileage, 4.3l V6 standard transmission

2005 Silverado, 21 Mpg, 5.3l V8, automatic, extended cab

not really sure on my other vehicles.

I mostly drive my wife's 1998 Corolla to work. It's a 147 mile round trip. The car has 195,000 miles on it. I used the cruise control on the last two trips I made, one set at 65 mph and one set at 55 mph. Set at 65, I averaged 38.5 mpg. Set at 55 mph I averaged 43.8 mpg. This car never ceases to amaze me. No major mechanical issues at all. Overall it avgs about 34 mpg.

My 2006 Pilot avgs about 15.4 mpg in mostly city driving, but will get 22 mpg with the cruise set at 55 mph.

Filled up last night, got 29 mpg, about where it should be for this time of year. I've got 35 psi in the tires, I'm easy on the throttle and I've got fresh plugs and wires, within the last 6000 miles. My mileage is also 90% highway.

I'm expecting my mpg to be around 32 mpg when the summer comes around, thats what the car did last summer.

49 MPG on the last fill up for the VX. The car is driving really smooth lately, but I think the warmer weather has helped. I had to shift late a lot when it was cold.

1884 Honda Civic wagon, original owner

worst 37.6, all short run driving, errands, shopping
best 42.6, mostly freeway and secondary road commuting.

No bad weather driving, no cold, no snow.
Delo 15w-40 oil
Tires 40 psi
416k miles, head never off, oil consumption 1+qt/1k miles
just failed Calif smog for the first time, needs a cat,
no certified cat available CAB won't let me add an inline cat that would bring it into compliance.

'08 YARIS sedan w/auto : 37.9 m.p.g. ; Eco-Meter > 38.4 . 1 click of 87 w/10% ethanol ; 4 Cooper Weathermaster ST-2 snows w/o studs at 35>36 p.s.i. : Pennzoil 5w-30 ( S.N.), Overall temp of 30 . Also includes snow / ice covered roads . Gas is now $3.53 > $3.60 for 87 .

'03 Buick Park Avenue, 83,000 miles
MPG for the last 10 days, on non-ethanol fuel: 21.5

(The non-eth fuel is .06 more per gallon than Walmart's alky-laced stuff, but I feel I get nearly 10% better mileage on the pure gas, so it pays off.)

Our vicious climate has been smacking me with warm sticky weather, far too warm for February -- which to me means 90-degree temps will be here before Easter and I'll be running the A/C. So, this might be the best I'll see THIS YEAR.
