Does your 5.7 consume any oil? Just curious. I sold mine a few months ago and it had about 190k on it. It would use less than 1/2 qt over to towards the end.

I had an '11 which I purchased new. I owned it for 14 years and it was THE best vehicle that I have ever owned. Throughout it's life I replaced a TIPM, front hub assembly, a fan clutch, and of course maintenance tune ups, fluids, brakes, etc, but it was extremely reliable and everything worked. The only reason why I sold it was because it was starting to get rocked and lower front door rust. Living in Michigan, I have witnessed the damage each additional winter does once things start rusting. I would have purchased another one, but at the time the 5.7l was no longer available, and I wasn't comfortable with the 3.0l long term. I know it is an impressive engine, but the 5.7 is proven. Everyone is aware of it's issues and there are few unknowns. Loved that truck I wish you many more happy miles.
2003 Honda Civic 1.7l
188400 mi on engine
2400 mi on oil - Valvoline R&P 5w-30
Hard to tell, but the oil level is that line just to the right of the shine about 2mm below the full mark. .5 qt was added about 900 miles ago when the oil level got halfway between the full and low marks.
I was using the HPL EC30 to try and clean up if there was any junk to clean and that showed some bigger carbon junk from my motors. The EC30 is made/marketed/instructed to be a prep for full HPL oil use. The full formulated oil is supposed to be stronger with all the cleaning and other additive properties. Best used for extended intervals and at a higher price point. I’m not into extended drains currently. My backyard chemist (probably wrong) was to use a quart of the better fully formulated oil instead of EC30.
The 1/3.5 ratio was to add a full quart easy of HPL and the rest of what I needed with whatever I was using for vehicle oil capacity. If I had bigger motors/capacities it might have been 1/4.5 or more.

No consumption whatsoever (knock on wood) it’s been quiet and the dipstick shows a darker amber color. Interesting, to say the least.
