If you liked the “ Arctic Pipeline” last week, you’re going to love the “ Polar Vortex “ later this week and next. Freezing temps are forecast to reach Houston. We’re going to get it west of the Canadian Rockies as well this time. Seattle will probably freeze. It’s supposed to be 19 F in Washington DC the morning of the inauguration. 🥶🥶

Ugh... It's 9° right now. This week I'm the Chicago suburbs is actually going to be warmer than average, then drop back down to the single digits next week :(

The most interesting part about the cold this month (and the next surge next week) has been the expansive size of the airmass in place. It hasn't been the coldest air ever, but it's coverage is continental in scale.

Definitely going to be cold early next week.

We are going to get a cold stretch in my area starting next week. These temperatures are in Celsius:

I am retired. Going away to a warm weather area for a winter break in February. Headed for either Tucson AZ or San Diego.

My ex wife is spending the month of February in the Dominican Republic so I will be staying in her place for the month and watching the dog that we still share. Her place is in Niagara on the Lake, which is one of the warmer areas in Ontario and is definitely warmer than where I live in Guelph. Last February the temperature in the Niagara region hit 50-60 a few times and even approached 70 once! I’m hoping for the same this year 🤞

I dislike Florida. Too many alligators, Burmese pythons, and old people.
Tucson is a great city/area. My in-laws lived there. We went out every Easter break for two weeks with our kids there for 25 years or so.
Drove to San Diego from there 2-3 times and flew to LA 2-3 times from there too.

Not looking forward to the cold but if the wind would just die down... been very windy lately, and that's just as bad (pulls heat from the house badly).

We usually have more icing issues vs snow here, damages the trees, wipers freeze to the windshield, week long power outages. Have spent the last 1.5 years cleaning things up, more to do. Thanks for the heads up.

-16 in MN this morning. It's been colder, not the end of the world here. A guy just has to take a few extra precautions.
