Please help me decide

(for a 99 civic si vtec 90,000ish miles)

I will be going to sam's club tomorrow with my wife to do a little grocery shopping, I see that they have castrol gtx & havoline (5w30) on sale and am thinking about buying a few cases what would you guy's recommend that I use, I have seen that in some of the posts people say that the vtec engines like oil that contains more moly? does anyone know if gtx or havoline contains moly??

I was originally going to go with a good synthetic but money's a little tight these day's so I'm just gonna go with a good dino for now any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I don't see one as beaing better than the other but I personally like Havoline and the SM has lots of moly. It's also usually cheaper. There's ways besides moly to get good results but high moly oils seem to have good damping and run quiet, at least in my car.

Check out how well Havoline 5w30 did in this Type R Integra that had some serious track time. My vote would be for Havoline. Either one will serve you well.

Havoline on price alone. The GTX will not outperform it in a meaningful way and will probably cost at least 35% more.

TropArtic, Havoline or Chevron Supreme......all excellent oils that you can get for $1 or less.

If you don't mind spending the money, go with Mobil 1

Hey thanks for the help, I think I am going to go with the havoline after seeing the uoa on the type R!
