Back in Arizona. Finally
After hearing rumors that PU was likely going to be dropped at Walmart, I have been trying to figure out what they carry that could replace it. I had made my mind up to get the Quakerstate Ultimate Durability since PQIA's test of it looked good especially with respect to NOACK of 8.8%.

I needn't have worried - my Walmart was chock full of PU products! I wound up buying 2 five quarts jugs of the 5w30 and 2 of the 5w20.

I'm a big fan of PU and use in my Ecoboost F150. I have never done a used oil analysis on it but when I drain it at 6K OCIs it is definitely not shot. That engine may put it through some serious fuel dilution but what is sitting in drain pan looks fine - just draining the old oil out of the pan leaves a very strong film behind that is not the easiest thing to clean out, it leaves a film that is stout! When I used Mobil 1 I could wipe the same pan out with a paper towel and clean it up like new, nothing left behind! The PU would require washing the pan out with varsol to get it as clean as wiping it out after M1 was in it.

This is about as unscientific as you can get but I run it in everything here and it performs great. I just bought a new Mazdaspeed 3 and it will be running PU as well. Sorry for the long post but I just wanted to impart the joy I felt when I turned that isle and there was lots of PU, front and center.

Walmart may have the PU today but it could be gone tomorrow. I've seen Mobil 1 ATF and G-oil one day at Walmart and gone the next day. If you really like PU, I would stock some up while you see it.

I also went to my local Walmart and ask the t&b manger why they wernt stocking pp and pu. HE said the got 150 cases of pp 75 cases of pu in the 5qt. size. they haven^t had the manpower to stock it.He went and got me 6 of the 5qt. size containers. Each one had an instant rebate of $6.00 sticker on the bottle. IT WAS GOOD UNTIL 7/31/13. If this was in stock 3 weeks earlier i could have saved $36.

I went to a walmart about ~34 miles from me and they had PU stocked. Asked the Technicians there if PU is stocked there regularly and he said, yup it's an everyday item that comes in every week. It's a small town walmart compared to my walmart so I don't know why they stock it and bigger city walmart don't.

You can order PU online at Walmart and ship site to store. I believe its about $27 right now. For those who are having trouble finding PU.

IDK if our 4 or 5 local *Walmart stores are carrying the PU but, I have noticed over the past several years that, W*M is eliminating many of my favorite products from around the store. Products that I'd purchace on a regular basis are now gone off of the shelves from the all of the different departments(auto, hardware, personal etc.)

If it's not selling at that particular store or town, W*M isn't going to carry it any longer. Sad but true!

I would like to do the ship to store thingy on their website, but I love driving so much that it gives me a nice excuse to go for a long drive
