For reliability yet usefulness I’d say a Chevy or GMC Express Van would be a winner. Bulitproof LS engine. Plenty of transmissions Available for replacement or repair. They are generally Fleet vehicles so one with 100k miles has likely had excellent service.

Would be boring as all get out, but durable and utilitarian.

When I factory ordered my Corvette it was with the intention of keeping it for the rest of my life and that's exactly what I'm doing. Which is why I'm not worried about putting lots of miles on it like a lot of Vette owners are concerned about. But then again I never limited my driving on my previous ones either (for instance I had 215,000km on my 98 Corvette)

Interesting that they (Plymouth) had no problem with saying it was made in Japan by Mitsubishi. Very little badge engineering going on then.

My 2022 Subaru WRX. Engines seem solid, even tuned to high HP. The limitation seems to be the transmission when tuned above 400 wtq but solid stock or even mildly tuned. It's AWD is great and the car is easy/cheap to work on maintain, mechanically speaking. The electronics are fine for me and you can replace parts if needed.

They have the 2.5l Iron Duke 4 cylinder engine and the TH180 transmission plus a lot of components from the S10 and S10 Blazer. One big difference is a narrowed front wheel track.
