Phrases folks post online that they shouldn't

Why do people in online forums and FB groups feel the need to include:

"Admins, please delete if not allowed." I've never gotten this...it says to me "Admins, I am giving you permission to do your job." as if the admins wouldn't delete it unless the poster said this. If you have to type this, you should probably read/re-read the group/site rules again as it should be obvious if what you posted is acceptable or not.

"Thanks in advance." - Please don't thank me in advance before I have decided to help you. How about "I appreciate any help folks can give me on this." It sounds like something your jerky boss would type in an email when you are being told to do something.

Guilty as charged on that "Thanks in advance" thing... Will admit that never really saw it from that perspective, but will be more considerate going forward.

For me what it says is that you’re posting to get your count up or to provoke a contentious debate rather looking for an answer to a question.

As in “I’ll just lay this load here and watch the outcome.”

Interesting. The intent (for me at least) has always been comedic and just noting that it is a more light-topic (like this one) as in:

Is that really where "Thanks for the add." comes from? I see it a lot in FB groups that you have to "apply" for admission to in folks' first posts to the group.

I was commenting assuming I was helping out by responding but was thanked before I did so....it's arrogant to thank folks ahead of time for help.

Which one do you prefer? Most would pick the one being more polite despite they are exactly the same.

Going forward reminds me of "low hanging fruit". It sounds like corporate speak.
