I don’t think Pritzker owns First Brands.

Well I don't like that guy so any chance I get I like to make it know. I thought I had read somewhere that Highline Brands, which I know they owns, has some affiliation with First Brands. Again I could be completely wrong, however, I just don't like that guy so it is what it is.

Doubt Fram would make a separate black silicone ADBV just for the EG when they were using the same orange ADBV in all three lines of their filters.
Yeah maybe. The Drive filter is still nitrile, right? Maybe this is line simplification. Now the only difference between the two is the paint.

Does the Titanium filter still use the old Ultra media or has it been switched?

So made 12/22/2021, 3rd shift

the filter is only 3 weeks old

Fram was recently bought out... again, so no surprised they cheapened it again
If this is true I will be looking at other brands

"First Brands is the one running the Fram name now. First Brands themselves have been rebranded, they used to be Trico. First Brands also owns Champion, Raybestos, Autolite, Carter, Centric and I believe STP. This is just a list of the ones that I am aware of, I'm sure there are many more brands that they have bought. New stock, so not old vs new. There was another post last month with pic showing topic application with blue silicone adbv, likely from Champ Labs Super Tech MP series filters.

Two possibilities going here. Supply chain issues with silicone adbv for First Brands Fram. OR, First Brands has made the call the move back to nitrile on the orange can. Because of blue silicone adbv anecdote, I lean to the former. But with recent cheapening (imo) of Ultra media by FB, can't completely rule out the latter.

For several reasons, I rule out 'black silicone' possibility.

Wasn’t the whole reason for the eg going from 5k to 10k the silicone adbv? So looks like they’ll be going back to 5k for EG, 10k for TG, and 15k for XG

Probably out of order but they claim the black adbv to be silicone

Why would one trust information from the same folks that knew nothing about the change in the Ultra media and later lied about the previous media, i.e saying not two ply full synthetic media. Rhetorical question. 'For me' not going out on limb here saying the black adbv is nitrile.

Among other reasons, agree with Z06 logic posted earlier.

It could simply be an attempt to bolster Ultra sales as a silicone ADBV of the updated cheapy
sent many to it when the wire went away on the Ultra.
