The PC tech fellow tells me that PetroCanada motor oils are all made from Gp III water white bases.

Thanks for that. One oil I was really curious about. Not quite the add-pack I thought it would be - its supposed to be SM compliant, so 1200ppm of zinc was suprising. Also, for a HDEO, Calcium isd lower than I thought it would be - I'd expect around 3000ppm.....

Interesting oil. Probably lots of VII's in it and pour point depressants to hit those specs. The NOACK pushing 10% is a little high for my tastes. PetroCanada definitely has some decent looking products. How much does this product cost?? My clients in SK might want to give it a try if the price isn't too bad.

A carton of 16 liters is $108 and the 20 L pails are $125.

Many of those ZDDP restrictions do not apply to Xw40 or Xw50 oil.

The ZDDP limits are only on oils rated spark before compression and are the most restrictive in 20 and 30 weights.

Notably, they all carry the JASO MA/MA2 approvals so they can be used with confidence in many motorcycles as well. I may just try the 10w-40 in my bike.

If I remember correctly, 'about':

2200 ppm Ca
70ppm Boron
1200 ppm Zinc
1200 ppm Phosphorus

I remember being suprised it didn't have some moly, and more calcium......

The only retail location where I've seen PC products is their gas stations, which I avoid. Obviously you're going to get severely burned if you buy oil at a gas station.

Hmm, the -66C PP indeed would be nice for me up here in CA indeed. Is anyone running this stuff in their VW TDI (ALH) in 0W40? I am contemplating switching from the Rotella-T 5W40 to something with a better PP for the winter (Brr.) months as I cannot plug the car in.
