THIS ^^^
This makes me livid with ol' man rage.
Why can't people pick one speed and stick with it? Do they not know how to use cruise-control? Do they even know CC exists ???
I have a simple mantra ... "Pass or be passed". Pick one or the other.
When I want to pass, I have the (unrealistic) expectation that you are actually paying attention to your mirrors, checking your surroundings, and see me coming up behind you, possibly giving you a quick "flash to pass" signal. And when I pass, I promise I won't slow down in front of you. I'll move on and not hinder your travels. I'll even nod or give a quick wave to thank you for letting me by.
Conversely, I have zero problems if someone wants to go faster than I do. I'll make sure to get out of their way in a quick and reasonable manner and let them on by; it's the courteous thing to do. You won't have to FTP me; I'm already aware you're back there and planning my move to get out of your way. Unlike many brain-dead drivers, I can actually judge closing distances and speed differentials. But for the love of all that is holy, don't pass me, and then slow down in front of me! Please ... I beg of you ... Do not create a cyclic series of revolving door passes; if that describes you ... YOU SUCK!
