Pennzoil Ultra 5W-40 Euro

Haha... no good reason, really, but let me try to explain myself anyway...

I take the C300 to the dealer every other year to do the Service B work which includes oil change. Dealer uses M1. So I figured I won't mess with it and use M1 in it when I do my own changes during alternate years.

As for PU, I got two free cases of it from the nice Pennzoil lady when PU 5w-40 first came out. Then I got a $25 rebate on another case, so it was just cost effective to use it. Plus, all the reports of M1 0w-40 making M54 engines noisy messed with my head and kept me away from trying it in the BMW. Yes, it's irrational, I know.

HT/HS now shows at 3.88 cP. It was 3.68 cP previously.

Pour Point and CCS Viscosity are lower, too.

I hope SN. Guess we'll find out when it gets here?

Yeah, can't make out by looking on Amazon's website. The one I got from them a month ago was still SM, produced in April 2012.

Yeah, that why I will go through Pennzoil, although SM is not bad oil by any means!

There's no guarantee that if you order through Pennzoil you'll get the SN version either. They'll obviously want to clear out older stock before they start shipping the new stuff. For all we know, the SN version may not have even been produced yet. All we know is that there is a PDS out there.

Also, it's quite a bit cheaper on Amazon and the shipping is free from Amazon, too.

Geez good question. I think they do.
I moved from AL to CA at the end of December, and I ordered on Amazon just some small stuff so far, so did not pay attention.
Yep, OK just went to my Amazon account, they charge sales tax!

You order yours yet? Mine arrived and is SM, newer of the boxes produced in September of 2012.

Hey sorry for late repsonse. Went to drive Pacific HWY, it rocks:)
Anyway, since I moved to CA I do not drive as much as in AL, so I still have 3,000 miles on GC.
However, will order either on Amazon or Pennzoil. Do you know how much they charge shipping at Pennzoil?
That oil in SN version looks really good!

Item Under Review

This item is currently unavailable because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it's described here. (Thanks for the tip!)

We're working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.

I betcha it's because OVERKILL complained that it was SM instead of the expected SN.
