Pennzoil Platinum 0W-16(no ultra)

Nothing wrong with purchasing Platinum 5w30. Much better choice for the Edge than 0w16 Platinum.

Try ordering Ultra Platinum online at Walmart. Have it delivered free with $35 purchase (most places).

The reason I mentioned 0W16 not being available as Ultra Platinum is my new car is 0W16.

The Edge is 5W-30, which I use.

I was curious if there was some technical reason they don't make Ultra Plat 0W-16 or just a marketing decision or what.

The thing is I wanted to order 0W-16 Ultra Plat for a different vehicle but it doesn't exist. Not even on Pennzoil website. I found that odd, thus this post.

So what about the turbo and how the temps mess with it?
I was asking if motor oils produced via that method are more susceptible to the temps in a turbo. Obviously it hasn't blown my car up yet but if GTL oils are slightly worse at those temps I could maybe change oils to one better suited for turbo vehicles. If they're basically equal to any other oil I'll keep using PUP 5W-30 in my Ford Edge

No they are better. A higher viscosity index and lower levels of contaminates.

It would be the lowest volume product in a low volume product line. Maybe someday the numbers will work and SOPUS will produce it.

Gasoline engines needing 0w16 don't stop being made inside factories because PUP isn't available. Try Mobil-1, Valvoline, Castrol or a boutique oil-brand.

My question isn't that though. I'm curious why they don't make a PUP in that grade. Can they not meet certain specs with the additives, do they not feel it's needed?

I'll probably just use Toyota 0W16 tbh. I just found it off they have a platinum but no ultra in that grade
