Yeah, I think my next 'new' car will be a few years old. After buying new cars forever, they suddenly seem cost prohibitive. Or maybe my priorities have changed. I just feel like I should be able to get a great car for around $30K, which has been my comfort zone since the mid '90s. Now that means a great used car. My salary has not increased in proportion to car prices. The ole G35 may very well be my last new car - I guess I better make it last.

We have big VW community here, and it's actually nice to see guys little younger, and guys much older that I am, that actually take care of their Dubs and make real nice cars from old peace of junk. Many also have older Zs,silvias, crx, and so on.Just seen old custom Cabrio for sale, nice looking, custom top,5 speed, and swap from diesel rabbit. Just everything I was thinking to build 6 month ago

Sadly don't have funds at the moment to adopt it...

For the price of a new Z, I am seriously thinking about getting myself a 09 Cayman S as a daily driver next year. By that time I should be able to find one for mid-30s.

Sorry, totally off-topic...

I didn't say brand new. And yes, I can get boxter or 944 turbo both in very good condition for 8k-15k range, same for 350z

it's been proven, that best value is to get car which is 2-3 years old, lost value, low mileage, and may still have factory warranty.

Thanks for sharing.

Besides the fact that it's from Nissan, don't care at all for the Cube.

But imo, you missed the best squarish vehicle, the Kia Soul. It's squar-ish, but stylish too. Been seeing quite a few around town.

I have seen far more Scion Xd cars made in the same years than the Nissan Cube or Kia Soul. Maybe that is because people trust Toyota more than Nissan and Kia. That, or the price on the Xd seems to be a better value.

Or, since you're speculating, perhaps not. Couldn't care less which sells more or why. My comment was based strictly on what I find to be the most stylish of the group, the Soul. Perhaps that's why "I" have been noticing more around town, or could be because there are more around here.

I bought a 2000 Nissan Frontier 2.4L pick-up truck that has been very reliable since I drove it off of the dealers' lot brand new. I had to fix an A/C hose that blew in 2006. Only other costs were normal maintenance costs. I still own it and continue to drive it. Very reliable. I would buy a 370Z if I was in the market for a new vehicle.
