Oversize Filter for a 2008 Toyota Prius?

I have no idea what filter size he currently takes on his Prius but I would like to surprise him with some Purolator P1's. Does anyone know what over-sized filter in the P1 would be great for a 2008 Prius? All I know is that he uses Mobil 1 and changes it every 5K when the light comes on.

You can use the taller PH4967/90915-YZZF1 equivalents. I use the slightly taller Camry/Corolla filter on my parent's Prius. You could try to see if the PH3614/90915-YZZD3 or if the PH3600/FL400S might fit too, but there isn't much room to breathe on a Prius!

Thanks for your help. I just picked up 6 Purolator Pure 1 oil filters from Advance Auto after ordering on line. The numbers are PL 14476. Nice Deal 6 Pure 1 Filters for $30 and then $10 off using a coupon code on-line. $3.33, before tax, is not too shabby for each Pure 1 Oil Filter.

I appreciate your link to sizing. I was able to use the Camry numbers for a conversion to the Prius.

I have an '07 Prius - same engine.

1st oversize: PL10241
2nd oversize: PL20195 <- This is what I use

The PL20195 is a pretty big filter ... probably holds 25% of the crankcase oil.

The 14476 is the standard size for the Prius. The 14477 is the oversize fitment, a slightly longer version of the same filter.

Good News! He can use the PL20195 on his 2008 Prius. I've used the PL20195 on my 2007 Prius. Same engine, works just fine. Nice to have the greatly increased filter size and capacity for no extra money (except the cost of the larger amount of oil needed to fill the larger filter).
