I have been using an oversized Mobil 1 M1-212A filter on this vehicle for the past 10 years. I want to switch to Fram Ultra synthetic oversized XG10575 since that is what I use in all my other vehicles. I am not a filter expert by any means but I do know more filter media and oil volume is a good thing. The stock size for the car is pf48 / m1-113a / xg10060. Is there an issue with bypass pressure? Would this be a good idea or go back to stock? Thank you for the advice.

nope. I run oversize 10575 sized on pre 2015 gm stuff every day. the new Mobil 1 M1-212a is a good filter.

IMO the Ultra will be an upgrade over the Mobil 1 filter having cut both open and watched a few videos comparing them.

I've run both the 10575 & 10060 several times and never noticed a difference.

From my 07 Denali 6.2L logbook:
Oil Filters (threads 22mm x 1.5) w/22 psi bypass:
Fram Ultra XG10575(4.1”) = AC Delco PF63E or PF64 = Purolator Boss PBL22500(4.1”) = Purolator Boss PBL11403(3.4”) = Purolator 20k LX10575(4.1”) = Prime Guard POF2500 = Premium Guard Extended Life PG2500EX (4.1”) = Denso 150-2021; Microgard Select# MSL10255, Service Pro Extended Protection E2500 (JiffyLube)

Oil Filters w/15 psi bypass:
Fram Ultra XG10060(3.4”) = AC Delco PF48 & PF48E – Purolator Boss PBL12222 = Purolator 20K LX10060 = Premium Guard Extended Life PG2222EX (3.4”); Microgard Select# MSL57060, Service Pro Extended Protection E2222

I went to Fram's website to see what the bypass valve setting was on both the XG10060 and the XG10575 to compare them, and looks like Fram took down all the technical specifications on all their oil filters ... so can't even see what the bypass setting is, or anything else on them anymore. Crazy move by Fram ... going farther down the tube.

I went there to check the Fram website after you mentioned this, not even the size of the can is listed, nothing, I did link a pdf file before that would be gone, it was the only useful piece of information left!

What info are you referencing to say Mobil 1 filters are made better than ultra now, since the manufacturer switch?

Fram continues to have quality control issues. Hopefully after the bankruptcy they get it together.

Here’s the new Mobil 1 oil filter⬇️.

Fram did indeed take down all their technical specs. I asked their tech support line why, and the answer was about making life easier for the web page guys. If you use the long version, FE10575 vs the FE10060, Fram will not stand behind a warranty claim. Fram (sister company) makes filters for GM, etc. I'm sure they must pass GM standards.
