Good riddance. Its interesting that the the man he succeeded ( Walter Cronkite) is so wacko and far left leaning he can't stand up any more.

Scott P, Why? Bill O'Rielly didn't submit false accusations/documents and try to pass it off as news. Dan Rather made a huge error in judgement or worse..... he lied with malice. Can't even compare the two. Besides, O'Rielly doesn't claim to be the evening news.

bill's only blatant bias is against stupidity.

Dan rather is staying with 60 minutes though, in an editorial position where he can continue to shill for the DNC and not even need to pretend to be objective.

I'll start watching CBS again when they fire Dan rather and Mary Mapes for their attempt to influence the election with fabricated documents...

When you have abused the public's trust the way CBS has, it will take more than getting rid of a few that went too far, before they deserve the support of the public. I am 61, and I doubt I will live long enough to forgive them if and when they reform.

You're right I'm sure. The problem there is systemic. Fire one or two and 10 more that are just as biased will take their place. I figured calling for those two to be fired would be enough to make sure I never had to watch CBS again...
