Actually they do.
I guess Mobil cares enough to bring back the extended OCI.

Our 5w30 is GF-5 API SN. Companies like Amsoil will always play catch-up to real oil companies that supply OEM's.
Sure - Amsoil was one of the few companies that already has all their oils that can stand up to the new longer drains. Amsoil was way ahead of the curve. Play-catch up? To what?
Extended drain intervals... wow... that's out of the future right? I've been in the engine labs, looked at OEM's engines with our oil after 20,000km intervals, torn the engine down to their bearings and measured wear. These engines had well over 150,000km. This was decades ago...
When Amsoil does something like co-develop an ATF such as Dexron VI with GM, then you can have something to say.

Like OEM's are a way to judge? The lowest cost, not the best quality is often the deciding factor. When someone chooses something new they compare the prices of similar items. The lower cost item often gets the sale. I do not expect the quality of a battery or tire on a new vehicle to be the best, often is is so low in quality it is worth replacing it ASAP. Why would oil be any different. Do you think the manufacturer wants the equipment to last long, or to last until it is out of warranty, and then have to be replaced with another new one?

Mobil 1 has a few true 100% synthetics in their line up as well, but most are group III.
AMSOIL's XL line have group III base stocks, and they too have "Synthetic" printed on the bottle. Although, IMO if it doesn't say "100% synthetic" or I know it is PAO/Ester based....it doesn't deserve "synthetic" to be printed on the label.
Gotta love the US legal system.
AMSOIL ... all formulate true 100% synthetics. - TRUE ?
Mobil 1 has a few true 100% synthetics in their line up as well, but most are group III - I WOULD NOT GO THIS FAR.

Technically, Mobil's would be "Group III+" if you are talking about their use of Visom as a replacement for what has traditionally been PAO in some of their oils.
And it has NOTHING to do with the US legal system.

I'm curious Pablo...what OEM's use Amsoil as factory fill?
Think marine engines. Amsoil will never be a low bidder OEM mass market supplier. It's not their niche. Amsoil does make and bottle some oils for OEM marine engines. I'm not at liberty to post who. Some folks on BITOG know.
0W-30 used to be synthetic oil. Now, however, there are one or two 0w30 oil that are blends. I do suspect that they are largely synthetic though.
Shell Rotella T-5 is one I know of.
"Mobil 1 has a few true 100% synthetics in their line up as well, but most are group III."
Some are group III/IV mixes; none are 'just' group III.

Some people will never understand, Pablo. Amsoil has their target market. Amsoil's primary purpose is very clear. I'm not an Amsoil user, but considering what Amsoil's target market is, I think that them becoming an OEM supplier would reduce their credibility to me. They're there to provide a product (and, really, a service) to the end customers, not to big corporations.
Not that there's anything "wrong" with the big oil companies. I use their oils all the time. PC makes great products. It's just not the same market.

I would imagine they were low bidder, or very close to for those engines. It is probably a cheaper version of one of their oils, since I've always found you get what you pay for. If you're looking for low bids you'll probably be getting a lesser quality product. Probably another reason why disclosing the companies they supply the OEM oil to is kept under wraps. Paint companies do the same thing and keep their names as secret as possible. Its called business. I'M NOT BASHING AMSOIL SO LETS NOT TURN THIS INTO A FIGHT, please. Mobil OTOH wants it to be known, probably a different marketing strategy. JMO
Selling an OEM oil, even at a small lose, keeps the machinery running, the workers busy, and the doors open during slow retail sales.
Likely, in Amsoil's case, it might be the racing department, not the 'factory fill'.
What OEMs are being furnished with fluids from PetroCanada? I am interested in knowing. Many of the OEM fluids that we have seen used oil analysis of have been pretty pathetic. Toyota's ATF,and Honda's ATF are two I can think of. I worked for OEM dealers a long time and saw first-hand that quality was not always the deciding factor in choosing a product. Most of the time it was the low-bidding supplier that got the nod. Not saying PC is that way. I've heard good things of their prducts.

In Canada, I'm pretty sure PC is OEM for GM vehicles built here. Canadian AC Delco oil is definetly re-bottled PC oil. Also, they DID co-develop Dex-VI with GM.
PC oils might be OEM in Mazda vehicles built up here, as Mazda dealerships up here use PC oils as bulk fill.
