I don't reckon these'll be good for more'n another two or three winters.

Certainly, as ballast rather than as tires. That can do at least four additional seasons.
Remember the winter tire season up there is 10 months, so he probably only has two more seasons left on that tire. That can do at least four additional seasons.
Perhaps not - those steel strands hurt!Winter tire swing!
Oh, you are right! Good catch!Remember the winter tire season up there is 10 months, so he probably only has two more seasons left on that tire.
I think @Number_35 has been sliding around corners.I donât know how a tire even wears that badly!
They wore quickly this past winter. Last November they looked like they had one more winter left in them. In retrospect, they should have been scrapped then.I donât know how a tire even wears that badly!
They were on Jr's Kia van. I think we changed over to the 3-season tires in April.I've had a couple of sets develop flat spots, seemingly suddenly.
Sheesh, you're only just now pulling snows off? Must have been quite the winter!![]()
Good eye, they are Nokians, and served well, albeit for at least one winter more than they should have been run. Lesson learned.FWIW - I replace winter tires when they reach 6/32â. Once the tread gets below that, they stop performing as well in the snow.
You could leave them on in the summer, run them down, and use them up - and Iâve done that, but winter tires in the summer are âsquishyâ. The soft rubber, the tall, tread blocks, they really donât handle that well and I donât care for the handling.
Those appear to be Nokian, by the way. A great choice in winter tires.
