New tires for the Rav4

Taking advantage of Michelin's $80 rebate that runs until 5/23/26, I bought four 225/65R17 Michelin Defender2 tires for my wife's '21 Rav4. I took them home with me and the production dates are 4425 so that is less than a year old and I'm ok with that.

I plan to have them mounted this fall after I put on her winter tires. It will also be a good time to put new batteries in her tire pressure sensors although I have never done that before.

Last time they see daylight before they go to the basement for storage until fall.

Good buy. Rubber prices are going up - something to do with Hormuz causing synthetic rubber to go up so natural rubber being used as a substitute or something.

Seems like tires never went back down from the pandemic rubber shortage.

Just bought those tires for my 24' Rav4 last month. Way better than the Firestone Destination 2 tires they replaced. You will be very happy with them. Good time to buy also!

Nice. I considered these for my 21 RAV4 but just too expensive for me and I don’t get any rebates since I get them for internal price at work lol. I went with the Yokohama Geolander CV G058 on mine and they are spectacular.

I have 2 winters on my CC2 set of 4 on my 2016 CR-V EX AWD and am happy about how they handle in all conditions.

I can feel the slight squirm when aggressively turning while enjoying getting into the throttle in Sport mode "S" going up long hills with turns, and its the same predictable amount every time.

I have recommended these to family and friends, and recently my brother who has 4 of the CC2's on his 2022 Altima, and my sisters ( son who has a Civic type R tuned to 400 HP and uses sticky tires, and my sisters husband, who both drive her 2018 CR-V EX - L with 4 of the CC2's ) all 3 commented they did not like the squishy feal of CC2's on warm days when turning fast. They actually suggested that I no longer recommend CC2'S to family and friends. That son who is into performance vehicles did add " those are the first all season tires he ever drove, so it might be something he has to get use to."

I personally like mine. When they age out ( I only drive about 4,800 miles per year ) I plan on putting on a set of 4 of CC3's.

I loved the CC2s on a RWD Lexus gs350 in a 55 profile. The squirm allowed for mild rear axle English at reasonable speeds. I had 17” wheels on it, instead of oem 18.

I’ve noted that newer CC2s may be a bit noisier. Has anyone else experienced that? They are the #1 contender for my wife’s RAV this fall. I may consider something quieter such as the DWS06+. She won’t drive in the snow, but cold and wet is a thing. The RAV doesn’t have a lot of noise insulation.

Mainly because I already had the dedicated Blizzak snow tire/wheel set.
