Going to be helping my friend with an oil change on his 2015 GTI (fully stock) and he wasn't sure which oil to use - should I just grab ESP 0W-30 for the VW 502?

ESP does not have VW 502 00 approval.
Does the owners manual give any sort of indication of what to use?
Oops, got it mixed up with 504 in my head. The owner's manual says either a 5W-30 or 5W-40 that meets either 502, 503, or 504.
ESP is a good choice as is any Euro 40-grade at Walmart.
Just grab a jug (well 2 jugs for the GTI with some leftover) of Mobil 1 FS 0W-40 from Walmart @ $25 a jug. Or maybe grab several if you believe those that say the price gonna double
