Oil Recommendation for these vehicles please....

I want to consolidate the type of oil (if possible) for the following vehicles. Wise counsel with recommendations are requested:

2005 Lexus LX470 with 29k miles
2005 Lexus LS430 with 23k miles
2006 Lexus IS250 with 17k miles
2006 Chevrolet Corvette with 22k miles
2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser with 3k miles
2009 Toyota Corolla with 1k miles

Uptil now I have mostly used a mix of Mobil 1 5w30/0w40 and GC 0w30. What oil would be the best value if changed at 5k miles, other than the Corvette's OLM requiring GM 4718M spec oil?

Also, what would be a better source of larger than 1 quart containers other than the major chains. I am in upstate NY.

How about Pennzoil Platinum 5w30? It's well regarded here, meets the GM 4718M spec, and should be fine in pretty much any application at 5k miles.

Check your local Wal-Mart for larger containers of this oil.

One choice would be Schaeffer's 5w30, available in a 5 gallon pail or a 30 gallon drum.
Hit up salesrep and see what he can do.

depending upon the time frame for the oil changer and unless recommended 5,000 mile oil change intervals seems wasteful reguarding the use of syn oils.

Amsoil 5w30 for all of them. PP would be my second choice followed by Synpower then Mobil 1.

If you are going to full synthetics, and using them in any of these low mileage, and rather high quality engines.

I would either change the oil out according to the Oil Life Monitors, or drive until 7000 miles.

Any of the premium oils mentioned wont even be phased with a 5000 mile oci. (Unless the engine already has a problem.)
7000 miles will be a good starting point. The Lexus's could probably go 10k miles between changes, but just to make sure I would do an analysis.

The only issue with extended changes is the warranty, which requires 5k changes. Once they fall out, I can consider extending the intervals. Only the Corvette has the OLM.

What oils would be available in 4x1 gallons cartons, or 5 gallon pails, and from where?

You should be able to order the above from amsoil.com. And if you become a preferred customer, you'll save some money. Contact Pablo or Gary here on this site for info.

Their XL line has shown some stellar results on UOA here on this site, and the price is pretty close to the same as Mobil 1. Easy ordering on the web, and it's delivered right to your door step. Pretty convienient if you ask me.

If the corvette was my vehicle, i would use amsoil's higher quality syns if you plan to go strictly off the OLM. The XL may hold up fine, but IMO i'd go with the better stuff. Use their filter on the corvette as well if you can get it.

My choice doesn't seem to be the fashion flavor here, but I have always had excellent results with Valvoline Conventional.
Ashland makes great products.
I'd do 5w30 for 5-6k intervals with a good purolator or OEM filter.
