I just changed the plugs on our '04 Chevy Colorado. The engine is a straight 5 cylinder w/coils on plugs. 3 of the plugs that I took out had plenty of motor oil on the threads (not the electrodes,) and 2 were dry. I've never seen this before and it definitely makes me wonder what's going on. Feedback is much appreciated. Thanks.

most likely the spark plugs seals

common for the gasket to brittle due to age and many heat cycles.

make sure when you're reinstalling the spark plugs to torque it to spec, you don't want to expand/strip the head's spark plug threading.

gaskets---other than that the only time I saw a wet plug (whole plug not just threads was when there was a dead cylinder---but the truck was running really bad.
