I traded in my 24 Silverado 3.0 for a 26 Silverado 2500 with the 6.6L gas engine. Going to do my early break-in oil changes at 500mi and 1500mi. I would like some ideas before I go to HPL. I don't want to spend almost $300 for short oil change intervals lol. I was thinking of going to a 0W/5W-40, I feel like the spec'd 30 grade is too light for the towing I will be doing in the near future.

Thanks in advance.

If you’re only going to be running this choice for a couple of super short intervals and then switching to HPL don’t really worry about it too much. Just about anything would work here.

What mileage do you plan on switching to HPL?

I'll be switching at 3k. I tend to overthink things, even on oil changes lol

NAPA has Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0W-40 on sale for $7.49/qt.. Bought my two oil changes worth of that.

Appreciate everyone's thoughts.
7.25/quart - you still have time to cancel your order haha
