Oil Filter for Long Intervals

Perhaps you stopped reading at the word ones since I attributed the non wire backed ones to the new updated titanium and ultra and the same old tough and extra guard as the ones that're likely to have pleat spacing and media tear issues. It's why I said the endurance is good to use but not the titanium.
Perhaps you should make your sentence structure a bit more clear. ;)

The carquest is a solid filter although it's not wire backed but has good high pleat count high filtration media with good spacing with a metal seam. But glenda w brought up a good point that they can leak from the spring.
The Carquest filters can "leak from the spring"? They don't have a leaf spring if that's what your talking about.

The right way to understand how well a filter is doing is to run it in the application and then do some PC tests on the oil, as well as cutting the filter open for some visual observations.

It's not unlike using a UOA to assess oil condition and performance. You gotta test things rather than guess at things if you want accurate info for any specific application.

The engines in my personal fleet of cars tend to be very easy on oil, so sludge and particulate matter are not a big issue. I've successfully run EGs 10k miles with no problems. As you note, other applications may be a stretch at that distance.
Sounds a lttle expensive. I would say about five particle samples and tests. Then put the new filter on with the same oil and run it to compare with about five particle counts. How’s that? If the new filter is better or worse on the old filtered oil, that should decide which filter is best.

Purolator One or Boss
Carquest Premium or PG made filter rated for 10k+
Titanium if Wire Backed
Interesting you list these 3 because that’s exactly what each of my 3 cars has installed right now. Meijer stores are still running 30% off so I’m stocked up on pure 1s and boss for a lifetime. If I have some speed perks I’ll grab a carquest or two, but as of now I can get purolators for less money.
