Since the dented filter fiasco has forced me to a brick and mortar store, I need opinions. Or maybe just entertainment because all of you will have conflicting opinions. Here are your choices:
1. Toyota OEM $7
2. Super Tech about $3

Regardless of the fact I could get a Super Tech and fast food breakfast for the same price as the Toyota OEM, what reasons should make me eat cereal instead of a sausage biscuit and hash browns this weekend?

Looking forward to opinions, facts, trolling, and snarky comments. Don't let me down, please.

what is the interval
Good question. Probably 7500-10000. Most likely 8-9. Super Tech does say 10k, I believe. I suppose I could throw the Orange Can in the mix, too, with its 10k marketing, but for about $1 more than the Super Tech, I'll go extra economy vs middle economy.

What's important to you in a filter besides cheap cost. And yes ... ^^^ the interval matters.

Well, that it filters at a level somewhat equivalent to the OEM. And doesn't ruin my engine. Who makes the Toyota filters?

Who make the Toyota OE (Denso Thailand or M+H/Puro)

What is the construction of the ST? (I don't think it has a silicone ADBV) E-Core?

I cannot get a fast food breakfast I would eat for 4 bucks...

The Fram EG is better efficiency. Does the ST have a silicone ADBV?
Just checked the description and now I'm not sure it says it does. Anyone know? That would be a deal breaker and I'd have to go EG vs OEM for my comparison. I think the Extra Guard has a silicon ADBV, right?

If it’s the Denso Thailand Toyota filter I would go with that. If it’s the Chinese or Mann/Hummel I think I would go supertech.

OP has not told us what the application or filter part numbers are. Hard to answer without that since all Toyota filters are not the same MFG and all ST's are not constructed the same either.

Outside of the original question, EG would be a solid choice for a low cost filter.

The reason I joined this forum was due to "mysterious" toyota and Suzuki filter problems that shouldnt exist.

On my 1NZFE 1.5L the Made in Japan filter below was the ONLY filter where the engine ran as intended and quietly.
