I was always under the assumption that the OEM Honda, Toyota and VW oil filters were recommended over aftermarket filters. VW in particular recommends the German Mann oil filters for their boxer engines (old air-cooled and watercooled flat fours) as other filters do not have the correct bypass specifications.

Wix makes at least some of the OEM filters. Not sure how many or which ones.

NAPA filters are not necessarily WIX, at least in import applications. The $10 NAPA oil filter for my BMW is exactly the same "made in India" filter that is only $6 in a ProLine box at PepBoys.

You really have to look at a lot to determine which filter is best for a given application. First get the original spec. on the oem filter.
You may want to take it appart to see how well made etc. Then check the aftermarket and see what is available and how good its reputation may be. I used the OEM on my miata for many changes but have found I believe a better filter in an oversized Pureone that fits and has the same bypass valve setting. For most applications the aftermarket filters are better. Honda,Toyota,MB,Porche and BMW are probably exceptions as their OEM filters are excellent.
On the Honda and Toyota make sure it is a made in Japan OEM not the other OEM's that are around.

Toyota filters will probably be made by Denso (says so on the can), and I think they're top quality.

Mann, Mahle, and German Bosch filters are also tops. (U. S. made Bosch filters, probably OK quality, made by Champion Labs are completely different from German Bosch.)

I'd guess it's Toyo Roki only because Honda bikes use Toyo's.
