I have been using Nu Finish wax for 20 years with great results. I have yet to see a longer lasting wax then Nu Finish. Some shine better but none match it's durability. This is my Volvo S40 after a full 3 months. I applied the Cling and it has been washed 4 times since. Water is still beading up pretty good and not far off from when it was 1st put on. The car is outside for 16 hours a day and garaged at night so it sees lots of different weather. Anyway I though some of your guys would like to see how this stuff is performing. 3 months for a quick spray wax is pretty dam good:

Nice pictures.

I have always been happy with NuFinish. The water beads forever. Haven't gotten a chance to try cling though.
Thanks for the post!

I guess all wax/polish/sealers perform better with paint quality, but nu finish combined with new quality paint like you have just go together, and it will last, and last... baby smooth as well for the price it may be the best bang for the buck, I myself use it on pretty much any paint I want to preserve on automobiles, even my lawn mowers from new to restored/in process of restoring IH Cub Cadets.

You are incorrect in saying no other waxes last longer than Nufinish. I've used several that last longer from Zaino, Duragloss, and Klasse.

What's the history of this car? You said you've been using Nu Finish for 20 years (obviousy not just this car). Did you first use the regular Nu Finish on this one, then subsequently use the spray? Pretty impressive if it's just the spray after 4 months.

Since we are on the topic of measuring our respective manhood lengths, here is mine after a rain shower :-) Nine months since Meguairs M16 was applied, went through entire winter with no car wash except a single hose down. (2000 Maxima, original paint)

Here are few reflection shots but these are later and has topped with Duragloss products now.

I'll have to respectfully disagree with you. While Zaino is a top quality wax it in no way comes close to NuFinish in durability and neither does Klasse. Duragloss does though. While I have not waxed full cars using these waxes I have tested them.
I have the hood off of a car and the paint is like new. It gets sections of it treated with all kinds of waxes and it sits year round in the back yard in the sun and weather. I spray it down with water and car soap once a month. When a certian wax stops beading water it's off the list. None have out lasted NuFinish.
Currently I'm not running any tests but I'll start them up again and post pictures along the way to show results.

I posted this to show how long Cling will last. Most spray waxes(and even regular waxes)are not known for their durability and don't last long. 3 months is pretty good for a quick spray(and it's still going strong). I use to use Eagle One spray wax inbetween regular waxes. It is a good product but is done in a month or 6 weeks. The nice thing about Eagle one is it goes on wet. The Cling has to go on dry so it adds one more step but that is not a big deal.

It's been about a year since I did a reguler wax with NuFinish. I have been touching up the Volvo with the Cling about every 3 months or so. With a one year old taking up my time the car does not get wax as often as it should. I found a really good detail shop that I'm going to start waxing my car for me when I can't do it.
This Tahoe is 15 years old and has had NuFinish 2 or 3 times a year since new.The paint still looks show room fresh. Pictures were taken in the dark garage so the paint is not as shiny as it is out in the sun but you can tell the paint is in good shape:

I'm not quite sure how you've tested these products, but I know when applied to my vehicles Nufinish doesn't come close to lasting as long as Klasse, Duragloss, or Zaino products. It's common for Duragloss and Klasse products to last at least 6 months, and I've had Zaino still beading water after a year...and that's a year without any touch-ups on a vehicle that's never garaged. I've never seen Nufinish last more than 2 or 3 months.

When I know for a fact that someone's making an erronoius claim, I'm gonna call them out. I've used Nufinish myself so I know it doesn't last as long as the waxes I mentioned. Anyone reading this thread can take what they want away from it.

I used Nu Finish too and wasn't thrilled with it either. Maybe over the years the product improved but I wasn't impressed with it. It certainly didn't last anywhere near a year, three months tops was about it. Obviously others are very satisfied with it. Maybe if I see it cheap somewhere I'll give it another try. But for the time it takes to wash and wax a full size van I'd rather go with something I know from my own positive experiences lasts.

I have been using Nu-Finish for some time now and not knocking other products as they are great but i use the paste and its easy to buff out and leaves a great shine for a few months and ready to do one more..i get a lot of comments from other car enthusiast from time to time and they ask me what i use so i tell them Nu-Finish.I just apply a thin coat and buff and one month later as the instructions says on the container do one more for better results..it works for me and im happy with this product..just my 2 cents

Chris,

Great pics and results. I love that Tahoe..excellent shape!

Which Duragloss product are you referring to? Thanks

I know that Consumer Reports praises Nu Finish for durability and they are pretty throuough with their tests.

I believe it does last a long time, if it is applied to a correctly prepped surface..

In any case whichever wax you use the surface should always be clay barred and polished before using any wax or sealant.
