As far as I have seen you are wrong and nothing lasts as long as NuFinish. You keep on insisting this so I'm just giving it back to ya. You still have not posted any pictures backing up your claims either. I'm redoing my hood test using all top waxes and I'll post results. It will be a year or so but it will show your hate for NuFinish is unfounded.

If anyone wants their wax of choice done email me and I'll try to get it in the line up.

I normally use Nu Finish on my wife's car and I agree that it lasts a long time. On my own cars I tend to try different products because I'm always looking for the longest lasting wax that is also easy to apply and remove. I've tried quite a few and my favorites are Zaino for a synthetic wax and Collinite for a carnauba wax.
I normally wax my cars twice a year, in April and October but I have on occasion gone for 9 months without waxing. That was using Zaino products ZAIO with a top coat of Z2. After 9 months it was still beading extremely well.
For the money it's hard to beat Nu Finish but I've personally found that Zaino lasts longer and looks better. I'm not trying to convince anyone though. Use whatever works for you.

Guys-
I don't want to sound like a 'wax snob' , but you can't compare Nufinish ( in any form, liq, paste, spray ) to Klasse, Zaino etc. 2 different worlds of waxes. And Nufinish doesn't try to compare their stuff to these Upper Class waxes. I have used Nufinsh for a couple of years and I was turned off by it's strong petrolium based ingredients and it's
stinky chemical odor. If you want tight water beads, and you are believer that tight water beads equates to paint protection-go for it. Nufinsh is a reasonable, easliy found car care product, but it is not a wax that lasts for 52 weeks, or 52 washes or whatever. If you use Nufinish you are already above the other 90% of people who don't put anything on their cars, so yea your will shine. I personally have used TONS of waxex and polishes over the years and I have found few that really live up to their claims, except one Malm's this tuff is good and I perosnally recomend you all try some.

Excellent post. Nufinish is good for what it is but it isn't what it isn't and you are spot on about the 90%.

I guess with some people, even if you lead them to water, they're only going to use it to make Kool-Aid...

harrydog and bangtango

Hang it up. Some people are simply convinced that these cheap over-the-counter waxes are just as good, or better than the REAL good waxes, and you aren't going to convince them otherwise. I have used these cheap waxes and directly compared them to the "botique" waxes and there is no comparison. But the sheep will continue to tell us reasonable people it's all just a figment of our imagination, or we flat-out don't know what we're talking about....

I have to agree. After using just about every store bought wax under the sun, and then trying Collonite 476s and 845 I can safely say you get what you pay for. I'm very happy with Collonite products.

I've never tried Collonite products. Sounds like I'll have to give them a try.

I just used the 846 Insulator wax this weekend. I took the bottle and let it sit in hot water while I washed and dried my van. It went on nice and easy and came off easy as well. I had coated it a few weeks back with the 476s and was very impressed with the looks considering it is now close to 23 years old.

I think I'll pick up some 845 to use on my motorcycle.

I have it on a Midnight Blue Van and a Black Aerostar, it looks great. One thing to keep in mind, 476s and 845 do not contain any cleaners. So if your paint needs cleaning etc, those waxes won't do any cleaning.

I'm a fan of the 476. Haven't tried the 845. It appears to be a good, lasting wax. Never really got into sealers.

I used to use Meg's Gold class and I tried Nxt 2.0 a few times. Gold class is decent and, I thought for a long time, one of the better waxes. I used it for over 15 years. I'll probably use up my stock of it at some point.

I still use Meg's cleaner wax though, usually after going over the vehicle with a clay bar.

Meguiar's polishes are really good, their sealants just don't last.

You better not be calling me a sheep. I have done my research over many years and tried just about all waxes made and I honestly found NuFinish is more durrable then any and that is why I use it as I value protection and longevity over pure shine and depth. I bet most of you NuFinish bashers have never even tried it because you are to much of a wax snob to try it. It does not shine or have the depth of waxes like Zaino but that is not what we are talking about.

Like I said before put up or shut up. I posted some of these pictures in the past asking folks to guess what wax was on the paint. Almost everyone guessed a "higher quality" wax like Zaino and some of these are in the garage with [censored] lighting and they still look good:

You couldn't have done too much research if you think NuFinish is the longest lasting wax out there.
