You MIGHT be able to remove the butterfly without taking off the intake. There are 3 12mm bolts holding it in. If not, you'll need to remove the whole intake...which isn't to bad, but it is time consuming. It'll take around 2 hours if you are mechanically minded. There are 2 hidden bolts on the back that you can easily hit with a socket wrench, they are more annoying than anything.

1)Remove the engine cover
2)Unbolt the wire harness in front of the PV/VIAS access plate (passenger side).
3)Unhook a few clips to slide the harness on top of the intake manifold.
4)Remove the three bolts. Remove the air tube.
5)Pull the PV/VIAS from the intake manifold

I wholeheartedly concur. You'll get nowhere and receive nothing from Nissan unless they're ordered to cough up by a court, and then, they'll probably wait until threatened with either collection or contempt of court.

On a lighter note, hey, you should have left the screw in the chamber a little longer. First, it might eventually blown itself down into the exhaust, and second, if it stayed in there longer, it might actually have "shot peened" the rest of the carbon off the surfaces in there!

If it were me, I'd get it all buttoned up and running smooth, get rid of it, and never consider owning another Nissan/Infiniti again.
