I'm installing control arms with non greasable ball joints. Should I squeeze extra grease into the boot or just leave it alone.

What brand? What warranty? When I installed cobra arms on my Mustang I tried to add grease but found the boot was sealed too tightly (a good thing).

whatever you do, don’t poke a hole it in with an injector needle!!

Moog Problem solvers. I don't know if they are good or bad anymore

I would double-check that there's grease in there from the factory and roll with it. These days you never quite know if the factory did their job properly or not.

Never mess with these type of joints and whatever you do do not be tempted to lube them with a needle just leave them in peace they will go for years (OE have been known to go 20+ years and 200K).

Another greasable vs greasable question. Check this out. Is it normal for the greased tie rod end to be thicker than a non greasable one? Does the thickness matter?

The distance of the balljoint to the mounting point matters. It has an impact on bump steer and roll steer. If the new one sits deeper into the hub ball joint might end up in the same place but I doubt it.
