Noisy Flag Pole

- pull down firmly
- secure lines to cleat

keeps the lines wrapped tight to the pole and won't rattle with the wind.

Been doing this for decades; works great and no added cost.

Not sure I understand what you mean.

It's ***** yes, but he's a good neighbour so I leave it alone.

I mean, way in the country, as on a farm with no neighbours for a mile.

When living in the city, sometimes people have to adjust for noise. Most of my sleeping is done in the day. If I were worried about ordinary city noises and hoped for silence during my slumber, I'd be in trouble. The only thing that really gets me going is road construction nearby, either shaking the house all on its own, or very large construction vehicles going by and shaking the house. Lawnmowers and snowblowers don't even register on my radar, or sonar, as it were, much less a flagpole.

Nonetheless, there are plenty of good suggestions here, and it shouldn't be difficult to cut the noise to keep the peace.

A necro-thread, great. I used to live right by a yacht harbor and the rigging on the boats would be clinking and clanking in the breeze most of the time. It was quite soothing.

I just want to say when this thread popped up yesterday it wasn't I who resurrected it. Someone posted before I did but that post has disappeared. 👻
