No MObil 1 0w-40 at my Walmart. is 5w-40 Mobil1 just as good?

I still prefer 0w-40 over 5w-40 just because it usually contains better base oil. Specifically higher amount of PAO. Group III oil cannot have pouring temperature below -48C .
The thickness of the oil when we just start up is 10× or more thinner than when the engine is warm >70C. The cold start up and early lubrication is the most important factor in engine wear.

Bumping only because I haven't seen it metioned thar the 5w40 says "European Formula" and has the little "FS" marking.

I noticed the 0w40 was $29.xx while the 5w40 was $24.xx today at WM.

Pour point in cold start up is not the selling point, I THINK you should be looking at the CCS.
