Ive been using purolator pure one for my nissan titan for about 3000 miles now. Every 3000 miles, i will be getting a free genuine oil filter from nissan dealership. I say "free" because i will be wasting my money to buy pure1's and i guess just stock up on these extra nissan filters. I was wondering how good are these nissan filters? It says it's made in japan but i doubt that would make any difference. Thanks for any feedbacks.

Oh by the way, in the long run (maybe when the engine hits 10k miles), i will return to these nissan filters, IMO, pure1's are kind of restrictive and the nissan filters will probably give me more oil flow thus a little extra hp=probably just 1-2 extra ponies. =)

Your Titan uses the same filter as my '02 Maxima. If you're getting the 9E000 filter from the dealer, those filters are pretty good. I've heard the 65F00 is a subpar filter, with internal construction similar to FRAMs. I've used PureOnes also but I'm currently trying NAPA Silvers (Wix).

I seem to recall that the filters for older nissan applications (like the 15280-55Y00) were made by Tennex (Mahle)

Not sure who makes a the newer ones though.

The other day I cut open a 65F00 Nissan filter. Made in Japan was printed on it. When I opened the filter, it looked to be very fram like. It has paper end caps and the only thing that appeared to be of good design was the bypass valve, which was a coil spring design.
