Ugh, already a problem.

The tailgate is electric, which is utterly unnecessary. I'm pushing my dirt bike up the ramp, and the tailgate lifts a little as I ram the dirtbike into the ramp. Tailgate thinks I want to close it, and motors itself closed. The ramp then lifts up and the edge scrapes down the entire back of the painted tailgate. ((*#&(*&&#*$&^#$*@^#*@&^*@&^$#*@&^,

I chose the 2017 F150 5.0 for similar reasons when I bought that one. There's just something great about that engine and it's simpler. I do wish they hadn't went to cylinder deactivation. I think the '17 was the last to not have the feature.

4x4 has no bearing on location as there are always uses for it. I won't own a 2wd truck. 4WD comes in handy even in hard rain storms for additional stability. It is helpful towing boats off slippery ramps. A 4wd truck just looks better as well. There are also woods in every state to go off roading. I never understood the "no need for 4wd if you don't live where it snows" argument.

This. It already has ground clearance. I want it be able to go literally everywhere if needed. 4wd has gotten me out of a few binds over the years. I may not be in those situations often these days, but my VW isn't doing the stuff I did in that truck and if it did it'll either be damaged or stuck.

In regards to 4wd, lifelong Floridian here. We don’t have snow but we got plenty of rain and mud. Plus there’s several beaches to drive on, I’ve seen plenty of people stuck in 2wd vehicles at the beach. Now, I don’t need it often but there’s deff a use case. Plus why not have it just in case? I needed it this past week visiting a cabin in the north GA mountains, steep grades of gravel, would not have made it up. 4x4 is simply nice to have even though many can get by without.

Did they go away from the standard plug somewhere between the '17-'24? The '17 did have a standard one, but it was in a poor location to dump oil all over the frame and then run down into the skid plate. I'd use a piece of plastic to make a funnel to keep this from happening.

I feel this. After having the new Tahoe maybe 3 DAYS someone’s door put a gouge in my front bumper/fender.

Have touch up paint but it bugs me so much!!!!

No, it doesn't. My post was a question. Anything anyone inferred beyond that is on them.

The percent of trucks that are 2wd is much higher in Florida than here in MN. It's interesting to me why someone chooses one over the other since I do not live in a snow free state.

I think a fitting 1/4 turns into a receiver built into the pan. The drain plug unscrews from that fitting, I think.
Dorman a replacement which you turn with a big screwdriver and features a hole at the 6 o'clock position to direct the waste oil from hitting the roll bar etc.

I too respectfully disagree. When I bought mine, my pal asked, "...You have need for it?"....completely straight question.
In my case, I only need it occasionally...just like the original owner.

TRUE: Years ago, all the small dairy farms near me were working. Nobody owned 4WD.
It'd have to be a right-of-way maintenance or well drilling work vehicle to be 4WD.
I questioned a bunch of young Turks about it.
Today, with so many homes being built "behind the parents' houses" having long driveways and needing firewood, I was told, "We use our 4WD all the time".

That sucks! I have to agree with the Car Care Nut about tailgates.
Why do you need a powered tailgate? Hopefully if you are buying a truck you can close it yourself.

It's hard to get a decently equipped truck without one it seems. I'm not a fan of it. I really don't care for the electronic release on the basic Chevrolets these days either.

They have been powered opening for a long time...or power release.
You can open them with your key fob...it can be handy.
Mine is powered release and reduced weight closing...closes really easy.

I wonder if you can disable the power closing somewhere.

I bet Ford puts out a customer satisfaction offer at some point if this keeps happening,

They put one out on the power opening one...people were accidently opening it and damaging them on bushes, trailers ect.
