Looking for feedback on a possible new F150 purchase

For the program "issues" get the 10r80 tuned. It will make a world of difference. Don't complain about the trans programming until you do this. CCS or AMDP. 90% of the 10r's issues are tuning related.
Trans calibration tuning makes a world of difference. I wonder though if a better calibration would help the 10R80s longevity?

Perhaps that’s why the 10L80s in the GMs are faring better? I know they’re a joint built trans but I’d also imagine GM builds theirs slightly differently in different and thus different results?

The salesman got back to me later in the evening with a partial shot of the window sticker and it does have the 2.7 ecoboost engine but it was a demo truck and has 3100 miles on it. I consider that a used truck even though it's never been titled so I am going to pass on this one. It's probably still a decent deal but not a "fly across the country" and drive it home deal.

Decent deal? $37K was an outstanding deal for that particular truck.

I still have a hard time believing they'd sell this 3100mi "demo" truck to you for that, with out adding a bunch of shady add ons to bulk the price up.

I have been looking at buying a new truck. I do light towing and my biggest concern is comfort for my 6'-5" frame since I am tired of folding myself up to get into my wife's hand-me-down Crosstrek that I currently drive.

My must haves include 4x4, cruise, and four doors but not much else. I have ruled out the midsize trucks and am narrowed in on the Ford F150. I like the 2.7 and the coyote would be ok but I don't want the 3.5. I visited a local dealer and they are $50k+ so I backed off.

Then I saw an ad for leftover 2023 F150s for 37k that clicks all of my boxes at an out of town dealer and it piqued my interest. I have inquired and am thinking about a fly&ride to buy a truck.

Am I crazy? Maybe you guys can talk me out of this.

Ford latest CEO has done much to destroy the brand. [Like most of the current CEOs.]

Also, does that truck have a limited slip differential oe e locker? It might be open front and rear and they are absolutely WORTHLESS for anything but dry pavement.
If you did get it service that 10r80 every 25-30k miles..no exceptions. If you defer it, it will defer you. You will absolutely hate it if you slack on trans maintenance.
