My qualifications are I have read your previous pointless posts filled with generalizations and prejudices. You sir, know nothing of which you speak. Either that or you purposely distort the facts or just ignore them completely.

You sound more and more like a mindless, sheeple fan boy. Reading your own words is all anyone needs to do in order to determine you aren't to be trusted. Your "opinions" are based in fiction created in your own little mind.

Not to mention the fact that the "classless" GM was the company Toyota copied for both engines (Stovebolt) and its first car.

Intel is an American company.

AMD is an American company.

ATI is a Canadian company.

NVidia is an American company.

Sun Microsystems is an American company.

SGI is an American company.

DEC was an American company.

Lockheed Martin, who did the impossible with the creation of the SR-71 Blackbird, is an American company.

Fairchild and National Semiconductor, both of which were pioneers of the industry, the former of which the men who started Intel came from, are American companies.

Engineering in North America is not something we should be ashamed of, or something people should be looking down their noses at. Silicon Valley has its name for a reason, and it isn't located in Japan.

Without Big Blue (IBM), Intel, AMD, DEC or any of the others American companies that worked to redefine the semiconductor industry, we would not even be having this discussion right now.

And that is a sad truth. It is why many of the above successful companies have manufacturing facilities in other countries.

Intel for example, has facilities all over the world. Every CPU you get tells you where it was manufactured on the box. Malaysia, China and Costa Rica are the places listed for manufacture on the Intel boxes I have around the house.

American engineering coupled with foreign manufacture seems to be the way things end up going. It has worked successfully for Intel, and seems to be doing well for Ford and their Mexican operations.

Oh, trust, me, I know. I lament that day. However, the ATI building in Markham still stands as their headquarters AFAIK.

Hey Overkill, you left off one of my personal faves(worked for them for a short bit). Texas Instruments!


Their DSP's, A/D and D/A converters are among the best on the planet. And are often a key component in the Japanese audio components that are so common in the marketplace.

GE, ExxonMobil, Pratt & Whitney, SPAR Aerospace (Canadian)...etc.

The list is huge.

It's my personal opinion that domestically produced vehicles aren't as good as Japanese vehicles produced in Japan with old school Japanese quality control.

Actually, Japanese quality control standards were derived from American quality control standards from the time before people in the US (i.e. management) stopped caring about the quality of the things that they had a hand in creating.
