New tool thread

Got these Duralast non marring hook and pick set. Got a price for them on the Matco truck today and they were $33 there. Paid under $13 at Auto Zone they are identical besides the color. Even the country of origin is the same. I’d say it’s one manufacturer making for both places. I can think of tons of places these would be useful. They also have a lifetime warranty so if they break I’ll just bring them in to get replaced. I’ve been doing tons of interior work the last few days so I’m sure these will help. I couldn’t see paying $33 for a bunch of colored plastic. They had one set left. Duralast recently came out with a bunch more tools. Most made in Taiwan so stop by and take a look if you are looking for something special I suspect most to be made by OEM tools as they no longer carry that brand but have their label on everything now. This was the last set they had. First new tools in awhile. Tool trucks haven’t been stopping by work. Haven’t seen Snap-on in months and Mac is just whenever. Matco is the only reliable one but he was on vacation for a couple weeks.

Those tool trucks can't make any money at your shop cause everyone borrows your tools! 😉

I'm sure I would like working with you. Not because you would let me use your stuff, but because you're a decent person. 👍

The Matco truck is way beyond high priced, This sort of pricing is common with them.

Mine have been dripping quickly as of late upon replacement (2 years later). I use the silicone as well to lubricate the install. I'm suspecting quality. Someone said (maybe this forum) it could be my water pressure is too high (it is). But all other faucets are just fine.

We have the old Moen shower faucet where it's pulled for flow, then goes left and right for temp. Newer ones are only temp.

I know I'm late to the party, but seeing that tool sent me into a awful flashback. If the cartridge is really stuck, the plastic gripper just breaks right off. If you can tap a thread down the center of the cartridge, you can make a press with a long bolt and some washers. After stealing the idea from a youtube guy, I strutted around for a few minutes trying to show off my redneck handyman prowess. My wife just laughed and called the plumber back to cancel the appointment she secretly made, anticipating my failure.
 
Capri blow gun. These are surprisingly nice. I don't know exactly what they did with the design, but it kicks way harder than the typical plastic pistol grip you'll find at WM (Campbell Hausfeld et al) or O'Reilly or AutoZone (Monkey Grip, Vaper etc)

I first tried the AP (#1717, maybe??) but its fatal flaw is trigger spacing that doesn't let you hang it on a mill table where all machinists place their gun. One of the Amazon reviews even noted this but I thought I was ordering a revised model (I wasn't). Ya gotta be able to hang your gun like so:

I have zero experience or knowledge of chassis ears but this was at local pawn for $30. I'm not even positive everything is there and I see a tape cassette adapter which would be obsolete for me, so not sure if I can use something more modern?

I'm a big fan of Koken tools. Even though I already own enough 3/8" drive extensions, I saw this 6 piece set of Koken extensions on Amazon at an attractive price of $51.56 and placed my order. I like the knurling on the drive end. Koken-USA sells the set for $94.

Thanks for making me spend more money, jerk! ;)

I too am drowning in 3/8" extensions but I really like the look of these.

I got them at the same price, I wonder when the bot will jack the price?
